rpannier's JournalUNC's Roy Williams uncertain about White House visit for Tar Heels
Roy Williams is uncertain if the Tar Heels will even get invited. A critic of Hair Douchengroper and his infant-vile tweeting during the ACC tournament with comments such as, "You know, our president tweets out more bulls--- than anybody I've ever seen."
But, when asked about going he went with, "You know, the office of the presidency of the United States is the most fantastic place you can be, but let me think on it,"
He did however, have high praise for the banner they would be hanging in the Smith Center.
Roy Williams coached teams won the National Championship in 2005 and 2009. In '05 they did not go to the White House, but they did in '09
From the depths of depravity: Caligulas party boat to be raised after 2,000 years
After a brutal four-year reign in which he killed for pleasure, allegedly slept with his sisters and tried to appoint his horse a consul, the Roman Emperor Caligula was assassinated and his memory hushed up by his imperial successors.
Two thousand years on, researchers hope to bring back to life his debauched regime by raising the lost wreck of one of his enormous party boats from the muddy bottom of an Italian lake.
Divers using high-tech scanners will start scouring Lake Nemi, south of Rome, today in the hunt for the remains of a 400ft vessel on which, according to legend, Caligula threw wild orgies during his reign from AD37 to 41.

If its down there, and its that long, then we are talking about the worlds first luxury cruise ship, said Alberto Bertucci, the mayor of Nemi, the local town, who is masterminding the search. Every emperor had a villa but Caligula demanded floating villas complete with columns, hot water, gold and mosaics.

according to a small bit under the pic at the top of the article, 'Caligulas pleasure craft had hot running water and technology not replicated in the Royal Navy until 1841'
Revealed: rich peers paid for doing nothing
Multimillionaire peers are claiming up to £40,000 a year in expenses for attending the House of Lords while making little or no contributions to debates, committees or questions, an investigation by The Sunday Times has found.
snip
The rules allow members to claim up to £300 a day for attendance, the only requirement being they show their faces in the chamber or a committee at some point while it is sitting.
Among the highest claimants was Lord Paul, one of Britains richest men. Paul, a crossbencher who was suspended seven years ago for an expenses violation, received £40,800 last year despite making no contributions in the chamber or on committees.

Earlier this year former Lords Speaker Baroness DSouza told a BBC documentary she had serious concerns over the system, but had abandoned an inquiry into it, fearing the result would be naming and shaming of her fellow peers.

What is The 21st Century American Verband Nationaldeutscher Juden
What is/was the Verband Nationaldeutscher Juden?
It was the Association of German National Jews founded in 1921 by Max Naumann. It was a conservative group that supported the National People's Party, a national conservative and monarchist party (It was an alliance of nationalists, reactionary monarchists, völkisch, and antisemitic elements, and supported by the Pan-German League)
By 1933, they supported the Nazi's. Their organization wrote in 1934:
"We have always held the well-being of the German people and the fatherland, to which we feel inextricably linked, above our own well-being. Thus we greeted the results of January, 1933, even though it has brought hardship for us personally."
The Association wanted the total assimilation of Jews into the German Volksgemeinschaft, self eradication of Jewish identity, and the expulsion from Germany of the Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe.[3] Naumann was especially opposed to Zionists and Eastern European Jews, the former he considered a threat to Jewish integration and to be carriers of a "racist" ideology serving British imperial purposes, while he saw the latter as racially and spiritually inferior.
In 1835, Naumann was arrested by the Gestapo and sent to Columbia Concentration Camp. He was released about a month later. He died of cancer in 1939. His organization was disbanded in 1935 by the Gestapo
They opposed Jewish boycotts of German businesses and issued a manifesto in 1934 that stated Jews were being treated fairly in Germany
This kind of reminds me of the Log Cabin Republicans and their leader Gregory T. Angelo who considers Trump pro-LGBT and doesn't consider Sessions anti-LGBT.
South Korea: At 11:00 am KST/JST the Supreme Court will deliver impeachment verdict
It's been 3 months and 11 days, but the Court is ready to hand down it's verdict on Park Geun-hye's Presidency. The Court has announced that Friday at 11:00 am local time, they will deliver the verdict
It takes 6 sitting justices to decide the Assembly's Impeachment was valid. Normally there are nine sitting justices. But, in January one retired. So, the margin becomes thinner. The need to get the decision out quickly is made greater with the pending retirement of another justice which would mean they'd need 6 of the 7, instead of 6 of 8 to render their decision.
This whole situation has captivated much of the public as the weekly Pro-Impeachment populace have turned out in numbers over half-a-million or more (no matter the weather) in Gwanghwamun, Seoul holding rallies, the sheer number of the wealthiest Korean families that have been caught up in the bribery allegations, the splitting of her party into two factions, the seeming end of former UN Secretary Ban Ki-moon's political career under a dark cloud and the center of this universe of corruption, greed and political malfeasance, a close confidant of President Park who it appears used her influence with the President to extort millions of dollars and intimidate others into giving her what she wanted
I'll be glued to my computer here
I hope she goes
Billl Donohue sinks even lower (and you thought that was impossible?)
Tuam babies horror is fake news says Bill Donohue of the Catholic League
He says not to believe the Commission of Investigation, dont believe the Irish government, dont even believe the Catholic Bishops, who have just reacted with shock and shame at the discovery of significant human remains at the former Mother and Baby Home at Tuam, County Galway.
Only Bill Donohue of the Catholic League in New York knows the truth the same kind of "truth" Holocaust deniers might approve of.
He says it is all 'fake news,' nothing to see, no one to be held to account over 800 dead children in a Mother and Baby home in Tuam, County Galway.

Unlike Donohue, the Bishop of Limerick, Brendan Leahy (who was representing Catholic Bishops at the Citizens Assembly in Dublin at the weekend) also believes the Commissions report is true: Were all as shocked about this as everyone else
he said. We hang our heads in shame, but it brings us back to the fact that this is what we want, to promote a culture that really does care for life before and after birth.

What has been discovered in Tuam?
Last Friday, the Commission of Investigation into Mother and Baby Homes announced that significant quantities of human remains had been found buried under the site of a former institution for unmarried mothers run by the Sisters of the Bon Secours in Tuam, Co Galway. The remains belonged to children aged from about 35 foetal weeks to two to three years. The news was greeted with widespread revulsion. Minister for Children Katherine Zappone said it was very sad and disturbing, while the commission itself said it was shocked by its own discovery. On Sunday, Archbishop of Tuam Dr Michael Neary said he was horrified and saddened by the news.
What is the Commission of Investigation in to Mother and Baby Homes?
The commission, chaired by retired Circuit Court judge Yvonne Murphy, was set up in February 2015 after a Galway-based historian, Catherine Corless, published research that revealed death certificates for 796 children at the Tuam Mother and Baby Home with no indication of their burial places. The commission has been tasked with investigating 14 Mother and Baby Homes, as well as four so-called County Homes, that operated across the State at different times between 1922 to 1998. Under its broad terms of reference, the commission is looking at living conditions, care arrangements, infant mortality, burial arrangements, vaccine trials, illegal adoption, social attitudes and womens pathways in and out of these institutions

Republican Caitlyn Jenner Calls Trumps Attack On LGBTQ Rights A Disaster
Outspoken transgender Republican Caitlyn Jenner ripped into Donald Trumps recent move to ax protections for transgender Americans in a Twitter video on Thursday, calling the presidents decision a disaster and urging Trump to give her a call.
From one Republican to another, this is a disaster, said Jenner. You can still fix it. You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me.

Fox Business' Gasparino: Milo Ousted Because He's Breitbart's 'Albatross'
... but explained that Breitbart isn't making any money, (they get funding from billionaires like Mercer) and so they ousted Milo, not because of his inappropriate and disgusting discussion about underage sex, but because of their bottom line.
Gasparino explained, "Let me be clear what's going on here. This is a business decision by Breitbart."
"The publication has become a little bit of a caricature with itself. It's become so right-wing and it's become so dominated by Trumpism and the alleged support by Trump that they can't make money right now," he said.
snip
Gasparino tried to dispel the notion that Milo went too far even for conservatives since he's a provocateur and he said. "He was ousted. He was resigned under pressure. They didn't want him there essentially because he would be a business albatross if he stayed."

Yep. Pretty much. They don't really care what he says/said. The man was an f-ing jerk who said ridiculously outrageous and caustic things. So, why be surprised?
It's all about money.
Kind of like people waiting for impeachment proceedings to start. As long as Hair Douchengroper is at 81% popularity among refucklicans they're not going to do squat about him. In fact, he is a nice distraction while they disembowel the country

Trump Staffer Grateful To Work With So Many People He Could Turn Over To FBI In Exchange For Immunity
WASHINGTONFully mindful of the privilege he enjoyed, Trump administration staffer Greg Potreski told reporters Friday that he was grateful to be working with so many individuals he could turn over to the FBI in exchange for immunity. Its such an honor to be surrounded by almost countless people who, if it ever came down to it, I could hand over to the authorities in order to escape prosecution, said Potreski, adding that he never imagined hed find himself in a workplace that was staffed wall-to-wall with professionals whose comparatively more serious crimes he could expose to save himself. Ive held positions in government before, but Ive never had an experience like thistheres an opportunity for me to do no jail time in every single office. I learn so much just by talking to these folks. When asked by reporters, Potreskis colleagues said they were equally grateful to have someone like him at work.

Someone told me we needed somebody to shake up Washington
I said, "You know what shakes things up right? Earthquakes shake things up. Volcanoes shake things up. And it always ends badly for the people nearest them."
