about the uk elections-

so, i read a fair amount of news about politics in the uk. the thing i dont think ppl realize is that starmer was not a good candidate. i dont think anyone rly loves the guy. yet, his party won in a landslide.

watch this jon oliver show from a week ago. the parallels r strong. if they reran the brexit vote, it wd go down hard.
take heart peeps. this was a snap election. i dont think it’s possible, w all the money the dems have rn, and w how much time we still have, for us to lose.

i feel like we dont talk about ai enough here. it’s here, it sucks and it WILL b used in the upcoming election.
i dont see much of it here, but i am seeing it creep in, esp in the lounge. rn the web is flooded w feel good images, and they’re starting to turn up here.
it’s just so dangerous. they’re trying to sell us a shiny unreality where even trained artists share stuff like klimt and monet w their colors goosed, and van gogh’s w the brushstrokes blurred. the crap jumps out at me as both a trained artist and a tetrachrome w a great memory for color.
it’s petty theft, it’s hard on the environment, and it’s coming for our elections.
i’m good at spotting it in images, but no so much w words.

i dont think it shd b a violation that counts toward a ban. many ppl r just unaware. but i feel like we need to b vigilant.
