Trump’s voter fraud "expert" registered in 3 states


SAN FRANCISCO — A man who President Donald Trump has promoted as an authority on voter fraud was registered to vote in multiple states during the 2016 presidential election, the Associated Press has learned.

Gregg Phillips, whose unsubstantiated claim that the election was marred by 3 million illegal votes was tweeted by the president, was listed on the rolls in Alabama, Texas and Mississippi, according to voting records and election officials in those states. He voted only in Alabama in November, records show.

In a post earlier this month, Phillips described “an amazing effort” by volunteers tied to True the Vote, an organization whose board he sits on, who he said found “thousands of duplicate records and registrations of dead people.”

Trump has made an issue of people who are registered to vote in more than one state, using it as one of the bedrocks of his overall contention that voter fraud is rampant in the U.S. and that voting by 3 to 5 million immigrants illegally in the country cost him the popular vote in November.

The AP found that Phillips was registered in Alabama and Texas under the name Gregg Allen Phillips, with the identical Social Security number. Mississippi records list him under the name Gregg A. Phillips, and that record includes the final four digits of Phillips’ Social Security number, his correct date of birth and a prior address matching one once attached to Gregg Allen Phillips. He has lived in all three states.

Head Shaved, Ex-Billionaire Batista Jailed in Rio de Janeiro

Eike Batista, once Brazil’s wealthiest man, has been jailed for alleged corruption after returning to Rio de Janeiro on Monday. Batista was sent to a prison in western Rio after undergoing the standard procedure of having his hair sheared, according to the state’s penitentiary authority. Police arrested him hours earlier on the tarmac of the city’s international airport as he returned from New York City. The night before, in John F. Kennedy International’s lobby, he took pictures with fellow travelers and spoke to a Globo TV journalist.

Federal prosecutors accuse Batista of money laundering and corruption, including the payment of $16.5 million in bribes to former Rio Governor Sergio Cabral, jailed in November. Both are targets in the long-running Carwash investigation of kickbacks involving Brazil’s biggest builders and state-run oil producer Petrobras. The probe has advanced to threaten sitting legislators, and the Supreme Court approved on Monday its broadest plea deal yet. A prospective bargain from Batista could further rankle the political establishment.

Police had sought to arrest Batista four days earlier in Rio. In a pre-dawn raid of his hillside mansion on Thursday, they found a Lamborghini Aventador luxury sports car parked in his living room and about 100,000 reais ($30,000) in cash inside a safe, but not their suspect, who had flown to New York less than 36 hours before. Calling him a fugitive, Brazilian authorities included Batista’s name on Interpol’s list of wanted persons.

Batista’s commodities and logistics empire raised his personal fortune to more than $30 billion at the start of the decade, turning him into one of the wealthiest people in the world. Those riches evaporated after his group of startups went bust under a mountain of debt and insider trading investigations. At one point in 2015, he gained the rare distinction of “negative billionaire” when his net worth sank to more than $1 billion in debt.

Hmm... Almost like there's a connection between the two:

MADISON, Wis. - A University Wisconsin-Madison student who is trying to start a white nationalist movement on campus previously served time in a federal prison, according to court records.

Daniel Dropik, 33, pleaded guilty to arson charges after starting fires to two churches with predominantly black congregations -- one in Milwaukee and the other in Michigan -- in 2005.

He was sentenced to 5 years and 3 months in prison.

A fire on April 16 caused approximately $1,000 damage to the Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church in Milwaukee. Another fire the next day caused $5,000 damage to the Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lansing, Michigan.

According to court documents, Dropik set the fires as racial retaliation for prior encounters with African-Americans not related to either church. According to the documents, Dropik set the fires after he was allegedly beat up by several black men at a party near the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

UW Chancellor Rebecca Blank addressed the findings Thursday with the campus.

"I have also become aware that he was convicted in 2005 of racially motivated arsons of two African-American churches. I am appalled by attacks on churches and by organizations that express hatred of people of color, Jews, Muslims or any other identity," Blank said in the statement.

Tulsi Gabbard needs to be primaried

Tulsi Gabbard, the self-styled “progressive” Hawaiian congresswoman makes no secret of her recent trip to Damascus to meet Bashar al-Assad. But, as an outspoken opponent of what she presents as America’s pro-terrorist foreign policy, Gabbard certainly accepted some strange companions on what her fellow lawmakers are calling a disgraceful reputation-laundering tour of a bloody dictatorship.

Gabbard, as her own office has disclosed, took her “fact-finding” trip with a delegation of two men who are affiliated with an anti-Semitic political party accused of using female suicide bombers; of beating up Western and Arab journalists; helping U.S.-designated terrorist organization Hezbollah and the U.S.-sanctioned Syrian regime wage war in the Levant. And did we mention the party’s ideology and flag take their inspiration from Nazism?

Gabbard initially declined to say who financed her trip to Syria. However, in a press release Wednesday Gabbard revealed her delegation (which also included former Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich) had been “led and sponsored by” an outfit called the Arab American Community Center for Economic and Social Services (AACCESS—Ohio). Her statement added she and the rest of the delegation had been accompanied by two men, Elie and Bassam Khawam.

Almost no information exists in the public domain about AACCESS—Ohio. Ohio Secretary of State records indicate it was founded in 1991, and has been in and out of existence ever since. It has sponsored just one other Congressional trip, one that brought Kucinich to Syria in 2006 and in 2011. Its website is out of action. It has no identifiable social media presence.

Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard just took a secret 'fact-finding trip' to Syria

Democratic congresswoman and Iraq War veteran Tulsi Gabbard is on a "fact-finding trip" to Syria and Lebanon, Gabbard's spokeswoman confirmed on Wednesday.

Foreign Policy first reported that the Hawaii representative visited Damascus, Syria's capital, during her trip. The visit was kept a secret for security reasons, according to her spokeswoman.

"As a Member of the Armed Services and Foreign Affairs Committees, and as an individual committed to doing all she can to promote and work for peace, she felt it was important to meet with a number of individuals and groups including religious leaders, humanitarian workers, refugees and government and community leaders," Emily Latimer, Gabbard's communications director, told Business Insider in an emailed statement.

Latimer would not comment on whether Gabbard met with Syrian President Bashar Assad during her trip, saying that for security reasons Gabbard's office would not be releasing additional details until Gabbard returns.
