But the Cock Brothers are spending a fortune buying up state legislatures and the nastiest most compliant stooges they can find to run and funding them to the hilt. They wouldn't be trying so hard if it was all in the bag. No. There is something wrong with the Dems that the Repugs can be out baying at the moon and running batshit crazy candidates that want to gut the social safety net and turn us into some third world country run by aristocratic pricks. Meanwhile we can't even loudly and forcefully defend social security let alone call them out on their shit for fear of sounding unreasonable and liberal. If this is scripted it is a pretty stupid script.

The Democratic Party: What's wrong with them? For starters they are almost the Washington Generals of politics. They show up, get a lead and then fall apart, blow a huge advantage and walk off shaking their heads. "Maybe next time." I say 'almost' because if there is one thing the Republican party ISN'T, it is the Harlem Globetrotters. The Dems are getting beat by a bunch of ignorant loud mouth hypocritical assholes who can barely dribble the ball. So it is really more like the Harlem Globetrotters rolling over for the Teabilly Shitstompers. You wouldn't tune in to watch that. And that is how I am feeling about the Dems. I don't think it is by design either, they just are afraid they might offend someone by being partisan. "Oh, the poor Shitstompers don't need to be hung by atomic wedgies in front of the Senate and mocked for their ignorance and tiny appurtenances. "No" say the Democrats, "They need us to set a good example of sportsmanship." Screw that noise.
Obama: As someone else said when he was first elected "He could have turned us into freaking Norway." Instead Obama wanted to show everyone what a harmless, cooperative fellow he was. So he ignored his base, tried to make nice, threw out single payor and made a whole bunch of pointless concessions before there was even a demand for it. Why? Just so a bunch of hateful wingnuts and inbred racist crackers can call him a mongrel and thug and an uppity n-word who they can hardly wait to impeach. And they will if they take the Senate and they may anyway just for shits and giggles like they did with Clinton. And you can hardly find one Repug anywhere who will do more than give some tiny weenie rebuke and then heaping the miscreant with praise for being such a stalwart Nazi on gun rights and abortions.
Obama's response? He talks like Congress is dysfunctional, not just the flaming assclowns of the GOP who would burn down the country if there was one chance in a 100 that Obama would get part of the blame, who have filibustered or threatened to filibuster almost every one of his judges, who have been willing to throw the entire country into default rather than pay the bills their guy ran up. Unbelievable cowards, shit heels and dumbasses but not to hear Obama. He might make a little joke but that's it.

Exactly right
There is a deep fear of progressive populism among the very wealthy who own these stations. It is not in their best interest to have these ideas take hold. A few thousand listeners who can be swayed to change their thinking can change local and state elections. Hence there are huge areas of the country where right wing hate radio is the only game in town. This needs to change and its impact on local and state elections is being underestimated.
The role of mass media is underestimated
in the new War on Women. The numbers of "reality"television shows featuring narcissistic harpies, gold diggers, criminal psychopaths and character disordered women have proliferated in the last 5 years or so. The Kardashians, Jersey Shore, the multiplying Housewives series, Bad Girls, Mob Wives, NBA Wives, Bridezilla, the ID channel and others are popularizing a stereotype of women that is extreme and grotesque and all over cable television. I can think of no corollary shows that feature similarly insulting characterizations of men. Maybe it makes it easier to see women as needing to be controlled when you see so many of them out of control on television.

And it didn't make him very popular among the Victorian psychologists. He eventually recanted and decided it was mostly fantasy and repressed wishes. Couldn't be that many child rapists and molestors out there..... could there? So Little Jane or Jimmy must have wanted to have Daddy's penis and Father Jim's too and Uncle Ernie etc so they invented the abuse and their guilt gave them the vapors or hysterical paralysis and blindness. But now we know different. The Catholic church hasn't been giving away billions in reparations to adults having repressed wishes and fantasies.
I have been a therapist for 30 years and I know that memories are not a recording of an event. Even very vivid traumatic memories can be deeply distorted by and altered by a child's mind. Even an adult mind can be tricked into believing things that aren't true. Tea Party =Exhibit A-Z.
But kids are very egocentric and tend to think that whatever happens to them is something they wanted or brought about. Hard for a child to believe how very little power they really have and they can't even conceive what is happening to them when they are being raped. I had an adult tell me her father put a knife into her vagina. When I asked if she was scarred she said no and could not figure out why because she remembered a lot of blood. She was terrified of men her whole life, saw them as brutes, deceivers and just waiting to hurt her. Every penis was a torture instrument. Even after she realized the sad truth of her tininess against her father's size and weight she still thought of sex as knives going into her.
I also worked with perps who told me how they groomed and manipulated their victims until the child was so confused about everything they believed they were fully responsible for what had happened. As adults their victims have to challenge their self blaming memories with rational thinking and compassion because they had been deceiving themselves with their child version their whole life.
Just know that there is a whole lot of real sexual abuse to children happening out there. And every uncaught perp does a little happy dance when he hears the McMartin story get a new readership and the False Memory folks get a little time on talk radio. Makes everything much easier to explain to the kids....and the jury.
It's caveat emptor all day long in the healthcare field
You have to know exactly who and where your insurance covers, what it does and doesn't cover, what is first dollar coverage, what is deductible, what percentage of which procedure is covered, what is on your formulary and what isn't. Your doctor might be covered but not your anesthesiologist. The procedure might be almost free in his office but if you are scheduled in an outpatient surgery facility it could be a couple of hundred or more. You also have to know how to review your bill for mistakes and double entries and how to appeal a wrongly issued denial of payment. It is a fucking disgrace is what it is.

More and more studies are showing that vaping has virtually no health risks, including second hand vapor and represents the best cigarette quitting modality we have. But the FDA, that fellator of all things pharmaceutical, is still pushing to regulate e cigarettes because "we don't know long term risks." Right. Why don't the pharmaceutical companies have to demonstrate there is no long term risk to their poisons?
Federal and state governments have been milking taxes out of smokers for decades and they have no intention of giving up their cash cow if smokers keep moving to e cigs as it looks like they will. Pharmaceutical companies have made billions on nicotine replacement products and pills that cause a host of health and mental health problems and don't want e cigs cutting into their turf. They have to demonize the act of smoking and then keep repeating the "we don't know long term risk" meme when it comes to vaping.
I too am a long term smoker who simply walked away from smoking with my first purchase of an e cig with no withdrawal symptoms and no looking back. It has been three years with not a single slip and not even a cold or cough. Vaped nicotine has just about the same effects and risks as consuming caffeine.
Why do we need one more study showing that cigarettes are harmful? Cancer and heart disease weren't bad enough? Prospective smokers were going to say "Diabetes? That settles it, no smokes for me?" The VA, where they have lost 10's of thousands of veterans to smoking related disease due to cigarettes the US provided them has banned their employees from mentioning e cigarettes to veterans who smoke, even those who have tried and failed every other modality. The reason? "We don't know the long term risks."
The FDA planning to take control over e cigarettes
The WHO and FDA have come down against e-cigarettes despite the lack of evidence they cause any harm. Every study that purported to show harm has turned out to be either poorly designed or that at the very least ecigarettes are no more harmful than traditional nicotine replacement products. And more studies are demonstrating that e cigs are much more effective at getting people to stop smoking without medications, without expensive OTC nicotine replacements or counseling. In short, they are almost a "cure" for tobacco dependency.
So why is the FDA and WHO so down on them? You tell me. How many billions in taxes are at stake and billions more in medication costs taken from the coffers of the FDA's sponsors? Who fines Big Pharma a fraction of the frauds they perpetrate defiantly and often openly? Who never prosecutes anyone in Big Pharma for bogus studies by big name doctors who haven't even looked at the study they supposedly participated in? Who allows Big Pharma to push poisonous drugs with side effects that include fatalities, psychosis, seizures, stroke etc right on the market even when they barely put a dent in the symptoms they are alleged to treat.
We need to face the fact that the FDA is owned by Big Pharma and possibly WHO too. The fact that they want to control and limit e-cigarettes whose side effect profile is almost non existent is proof of e-cigarette's threat to Big Pharma and the gravy train of taxes the government extorts from smokers who die faster and earlier and save the government money over the long haul. Nicotine lozenges and gum cost only a few pennies more than the same non nicotine products and cost 30 times as much. But that is OK.
Fuck the fucking FDA and WHO, unless you happen to be on medications that make that impossible or have access to the medications that can make it possible again.

Ms. Palin clearly enjoys hunting these progressive punks and the reader feels her white hot snark on nearly every page. And you can tell she is an astute student of history when she compares the secret War on Christmas to the persecution of Joe McCarthy, the demonization of the Abu Ghraib hazings, the Nazi Blitzkrieg, the Holocaust and the Stalinist purges. Its not all anti commie rants either. She makes us burst with pride as she nearly bursts the buttons of her snug fitting bodice vigorously waving Old Glory and kneeling at the Manger with the 3 wise men, Reagan, Rush and Rushdoony. If you can't go out and kill a commie for Christ you can do the next best thing and read this book and watch this tough old broad do it for you."
Why is this type of thing the only thing that politicians can do?
Every time I go into a store to buy a six pack of beer or some smokes for my wife, I get carded. At age 61. Because its the law. Because it is a meaningless way to remind people that their politicians are on the job keeping us all safe. Meanwhile heavy toxins, pesticides and herbicides are polluting whole watersheds, half the country is obese, our kids are getting heart disease and diabetes at age 8, our infrastructure is crumbling, there are all these shitty jobs with no benefits,schools are crowded and dangerous, lunatics gun down people with impunity and their response is....... "I know, lets make it harder to get cigarettes".... and "What the hell, lets tax it another buck a pack." The powers that be are also at work trying to stop e-cigarettes because.... well just because. It might be dangerous. There is no proof at all that they are, quite the contrary but by God, we have got to stop this before someone gets hurt. Fuck these assholes. Every goddam one of them.
