'Silent' or 'Boomer'?

I'm a Silent.
My wife is a Boomer.
Interesting article on generations.

Any cord cutters here?

I went with ROKU ($30 one time, no monthly fee) and YOUTUBE TV ($49/mo.) about 6 months ago.
YOUTUBE TV gives me local channels, a heap of sports channels, and all the channels I used to watch on DISH at $130/mo plus beaucoupe movie channels .

New Brit drama/sitcom I just found.

The Bretts
About a theatrical family ((actors and one playwright) in England post WW I.

Using ROKU watching on youtube.

Funny and touching.

When is the last time you shined a pair of shoes?

I live in coastal Alabama and wear sandals (if anything) almost year round.
Maybe with some wool socks on cool days.
(Yeah, I'm one of THOSE.)

I have a pair of leather shoes for 'formal' occasions, but they're not shiny.
More like soft buffed leather.

I guess Barron isn't into sports.

His dad goes to a world series game and no Barron.
Goes to the Alabama (ROLL TIDE ) - LSU game and no Barron.
No photo ops of tossing a baseball or football, playing catch with his young son on the south lawn.
No shooting hoops.

I wonder what the kid does all day.
Where does he go to school?
Is he home schooled?

Does Donnie Two-Scoops even remember that he has another son?
Poor kid.

"The love of liberty is the love of others; the love of power is the love of ourselves."

William Hazlitt (10 April 1778 18 September 1830) was an English essayist, drama and literary critic, painter, social commentator, and philosopher. He is now considered one of the greatest critics and essayists in the history of the English language,[1][2] placed in the company of Samuel Johnson and George Orwell.[3][4]

He is also acknowledged as the finest art critic of his age.[5] Despite his high standing among historians of literature and art, his work is currently little read and mostly out of print.[6][7]

No boos or demos at Alabama - LSU game.

Donnie Two-Scoops has brought my team abysmal luck.
Tide down 33-13 in the 3rd quarter.
Tua is NOT ready to play and we've made way too many mistakes, turnovers, penalties, etc.

Popeye's chicken sandwich recipe

How do I copy and paste an image into DU?

I right click on the image and left click on 'copy' and then 'paste' here and zip.

Letter to my congressman, Bradley Byrne Dist 1. (R-AL) "Now I Fear You"

I did vote for you in the primary because the alternative was so much worse.*
I have disagreed with many, if not most, of your policy positions since you took office.

But now I fear you.
It frightens me that you continue to support Donald Trump in spite of the fact that he is undermining and damaging the very security of our nation. I won't go into details. I know that you have all of the same information that I do...if you watch anything other than Fox News

I fear you because I know that, unlike many others of your cohorts, you are an intelligent, educated person.
I written you about this before, but it still pains me that you and your party are now blatantly and unapologetically putting your political party above all else.
Above your family.
Above your faith.
Above your country.
Above your duty to the oath you swore and to and the constitution.
Above everything else.
Uber alles.
Does that have a familiar ring?

Now the good news.
It's still not too late. Not to late to come to your senses.
Ask yourself "Is it more important for me to get re-elected (or elected to the senate) or to do what, in my heart of hearts, I know is the right thing to d?."
Please ponder this.

*There was NO Democratic challenger to Byrne in the primary or general election. His repug opponent was a hair-on-fire tea partier. Democrats in the county organized to vote for Byrne (open primary) as the lesser of two evils.
Now he is running for the repug nomination to go against Dem senate incumbent Doug Jones.

P.S. Byrne was a Dem until the late 90s.
