termed it "frightening and real" and then attributed the violence to BOTH right and left wing extremists!
Are they TRYING to suppress voting?
And, this "both sides do it " is transparent bullshit!
I guess I am just a terrible person. At the very least, I am small-minded and ungenerous.
A gulf has opened between me and those who STILL support the monster in the White House. And, though I know it is not " the right thing to say", I don't ever foresee that gulf closing or even narrowing because I will not allow it.
I do not want to associate unnecessarily with anyone whose integrity, judgment, morals and courage are so deficient that they are utterly unreliable for any purpose. I also do not want to be involved in frequent arguments and confrontations with people who are fools, fascists or both. That would happen if I tried to "make nice" with them because I would call them that and worse when they tried masking their arrogant racism, misogyny and bigotry with a smile and a wink.
The handful of relatives who are still proud to fly his flag will get a nod at any funerals at which we unavoidably bump into them. Any who bother to ask why I am so "distant" will be told, in blunt terms, exactly why.
I did not cause this divide. They did. I have never belonged to the TEA Party, but I am proposing a "FEA" Party: "FUCK 'EM ALL!"
We voted this morning in southern Illinois---hand-delivered our mail-in ballots to the clerk. We
made photocopies of both our exterior "mail-in" envelope and the interior "secrecy" envelope and had both stamped to show date of receipt by Clerk. Our county is counting these nearly "as received". They count in 3-day batches.
Clerk said the expect to have county totals by 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. That's just an hour after the pills will close.
Maybe, just maybe, "only" 2 out of 3 of my neighbors will vote for Trump. Over 3 out of 4 did in 2016.
While it is tragic that Trump has the mindset of a spoiled 3-year-old, it is even
more tragic that so many are---Just---Now---realizing that.
Oldie but goodie---worth repeating: "Stress is the body's physiological response to
having to constantly resist the compelling impulse to slap the living shit out of some sonofabitch who richly deserves it."
Is your outrage about Trump more than you can handle? I think I see your problem:
you are trying to make sense out of what he says and does. You are assuming---quite understandably---that he has reasons for his outrages, reasons that you might understand if you just thought harder.
He has none.
He is literally living his life 10 minutes at a time. A thought occurs to him---or is given to him---and he speaks or acts in a accordance with wherever his stream of consciousness happens to be flowng at that instant. He knows no more of plans than he knows about quarks.
So, it's not you; it's him. He is not just unreasonable; he is without reason.
Is there no one with a spine on the debate commission? Do not ASK---ANNOUNCE that in all future
debates, each candidate will have the microphone ONLY when it is their turn to speak. The candidate who is not supposed to be speaking will have a dead mike at their podium.
And, IF Trump refuses to accept that, they should give Biden the 90 minutes of national air time on a stage with an empty chair labelled "Donald Trump".
This is not complicated. It just take takes a few people who are willing to step forward and say "This will not stand!" and mean it.
Did you ever wonder why these adult males call themselves Proud "BOYS"?
It's because their juvenile self-important behavior is not acceptable to or respected by MEN.
Grow up, "boys".
Trump's debate performance has made Louie Gohmert seem intellectual and
has made Joseph McCarthy seem decent.
I have a different sort of debate drinking game.
I'm going to chug a pint of Jamesons each time Trump tells the truth.
I expect to stay quite sober.
