Obama draws contrast with Romney in Rolling Stone

Washington --

Mitt Romney can't disavow the conservative views he embraced as a candidate during the Republican presidential primaries, President Barack Obama says in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine that, when it hits newsstands Friday, will complete a week of outreach to young voters.

Obama covered a range of topics in the Rolling Stone interview, from his relations with the Pentagon to his reflections on race to his two acclaimed though abbreviated moments of public singing.

Analyzing the election campaign ahead of him, Obama avoided characterizing Romney as a flip-flopper, a common criticism Romney faced during the Republican primary contests, and instead tagged him as a candidate who willfully embraces the Republican Party's most conservative views.

"I don't think that their nominee is going to be able to suddenly say, 'Everything I've said for the last six months, I didn't mean,' " Obama said. "I'm assuming that he meant it. When you're running for president, people are paying attention to what you're saying."

Florida man mistakes girlfriend for hog, shoots her

This is just not good.

Have you ever mistaken your significant other or spouse for a hog? I hope not...

A Florida couple was on a weekend camping trip that ended in an airlift to the emergency room. Steven Egan, 52, was hunting with his girlfriend, Lisa Simmons, in the northern part of the state when he mistook her for a hog and shot her.

"He saw a hog and thought he shot it and went to look for it," Maj. Steve Clair of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office told ABC News. "He heard her and thought it was a hog and just shot."

The mistake was not actually related to her appearance. Rather, Egan had earlier shot at a hog that continued to evade him. He reportedly instructed Simmons to stay at their campsite while he pursued the evasive animal, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office However, Simmons ventured away from the campsite, apparently searching for oranges that had fallen from nearby trees.

When Egan heard rustling in the woods, he fired in her direction without first making visual confirmation with his intended target. Instead, Simmons was struck in the legs by a .30-caliber bullet from Egan's gun. She was airlifted to the nearby Halifax Health Medical Center where she is listed as being in serious condition.

Imagine the conversation afterward at the hospital.

Steven: "I'm sorry, I thought you were a hog!"

Lisa: "$*&(*+$%$^)!!!!!! : bleeds some more

Seriously, I hope she is okay. Yikes.

Founder/editor of World Nut Daily: "HERE'S HOW TO ENSURE OBAMA DEFEAT" ***birther alert***

WASHINGTON – Left to the devices of the Republican Party and its nominee, Barack Obama is a shoo-in for re-election, says Joseph Farah, editor and founder of WND.

But he does believe there is an opportunity to defeat Obama and, equally importantly, restore the nation to constitutional integrity in 2012.

“There’s a problem even bigger than Obama afflicting America,” he says. “And that means it is a huge, monumental, fundamental crisis, because Obama, given another four years in office, will effectively destroy the very fabric of everything good that set America apart from the rest of the world. That problem is we have no more anchor for self-government, the rule of law and governance through the will of the people. The Constitution is being rendered meaningless.”

Farah says the way to accomplishing both goals – defeating Obama and restoring constitutional integrity – is through making the case, directly to the American people, that Obama is not constitutionally eligible, a position already held by a shockingly high percentage of Americans, given the blackout of the issue by most of the media...

Soooo...they're still banking on the Birther Conspiracy?? Really???

Some dipshit from the American Spectator blames President Obama for changes to Mustang by Ford.

The Ford Motor Company is giving its Mustang a unique 50th birthday present: death.

Detroit will still market an automobile called the Mustang. It just won't bear much of a resemblance to the iconic roadster driven by the likes of Lt. Frank Bullitt and James Bond.

The Environmental Protection Agency may prefer Obamamobile Chevy Volts to the high-performance, low-mileage sports cars. But the American public exhibits a clear preference for the latter. Zero-to-sixty in five seconds just feels realer than global warming.

The classic American sports car survived the Pontiac Firebird, OPEC's oil embargo, and Ford's '70s-era Mustang II Pinto-like redesign. The Mustang won't survive Obama.

God forbid that the Mustang be made more fuel efficient. This dope thinks it is more important to go 0-60 in five seconds than get decent mileage as gas prices keep going up.

Not to mention that the modern Mustang is already a piece of crap.

I'm sick of these guys who wish that it was still 1970 and still listen to 'classic rock'.

He's the guy who tailgates me and gives me the finger and passes me in a no-passing zone.

Nobody likes that guy.

Video activist James O'Keefe hurls charges -- but no video -- at Oregon Bus Project

James O'Keefe, the conservative activist who has gained national publicity with his controversial ambush videos, made some pretty provocative charges in an appearance before the Oregon Tea Party this weekend -- but he didn't back it up with any actual video.

O'Keefe said he went undercover on a trip with the Portland-based Bus Project – a group that has worked with several Democratic politicians and that encourages young people to get involved in politics – and found "potential drug abuse" and underage drinking. And he made an apparent reference to Gov. John Kitzhaber by saying the "former governor or current governor [was] involved in it."

The charges angered and mystified officials with the Bus Project, who said they are scrupulous about not serving alcohol to minors. And they questioned why O'Keefe is making the charges so long after taking a two-day trip with the Bus Project back in July of 2010.

"I have no reason to believe his two-years-after-the-fact allegations," said Caitlin Baggott, the Bus Project's executive director. </snip>

Who is paying this little turd, now that Breitbart is dead?

Unmitigated disaster of a former Vice-President calls President Obama "unmitigated disaster"

If I am a suitable organ donor when I tip over, I want to stipulate that Dick Cheney or anyone else who is related in any way to the modern Republican party can't have any of mine.

Exactly three weeks after a heart transplant, former Vice President Dick Cheney delivered a a one-hour-and-fifteen minute political speech Saturday -- and excoriated President Obama.

"He has been an unmitigated disaster to the country," Cheney told the Wyoming Republican Party state convention in Cheyenne, adding that GOP challenger Mitt Romney will do "a whale of a job."

Daughter Liz Cheney appeared with her father, who joked about his health.

"I'm not running any foot races yet but it won't be long," the ex-vice president said.

Idaho's lone black lawmaker receives KKK mailing

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho's only black lawmaker said she received a direct mailing from the Ku Klux Klan that has bolstered her resolve to fight prejudice.

Childhood memories of a cross burning on her lawn on Boise's north end were rekindled for Rep. Cherie Buckner-Webb, D-Boise, when she opened a hand-addressed application last week to join the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

"It conjured up a lot of things for me that weren't very comfortable — not fear, but sometimes we get to thinking things are settled," she said.

The mailing solicited a photo, $35 in annual dues and asked for a completed statement proclaiming: "I am a White Christian man or woman," The Idaho Statesman reported.

Sntr Grssly nt stsfd wth FCC wil keep hld on stupd noms

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has no plans to lift his hold on President Obama's two nominees to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) despite receiving a trove of the agency's documents, a spokeswoman for the senator said Monday.

Grassley said he would block the nominees, Ajit Pai and Jessica Rosenworcel, until the agency provided him with records related to its review of wireless startup LightSquared.

FCC officials said they declined to cooperate with Grassley's probe because he does not serve on a committee with jurisdiction over the agency.
