calimary's JournalWell, remember Cenk Uyger and what happened to his Young Turks show on MSNBC?
The network brass got complaints from Washington DC republi-CONS that they didn't like "the way they were treated" by the Young Turks and wouldn't come on the show anymore.
And MSNBC caved. And got rid of Cenk and friends. STUPID thing to do. That's like SONY caving to the North Koreans and just letting that be that. Their response should have been - "SO?" Or "Who the fuck cares?" Or "hey, no big deal. We've got LOTS of people we can book! Really don't need you guys all that badly."
So they think no republi-CONS on the air means no show? How 'bout all the Dems and progressive and liberals that would make room for on the air? How 'bout some more attention paid to the OTHER side (i.e. OURS)??? They wouldn't have been at a loss for guests. There are TONS of articulate Dems who've never had a chance at face time. And they'd probably have a LOT of relevant and provocative and attention-getting things to say.
Welcome to DU, rewinn!
Glad you're here! That was YOU? You are ahead of your time, my friend! But your essay is even MORE topical now than it ever was in 2008. And I'm glad to see the sentiment is STILL widely shared! Cuz I sure do feel that way. I thought at first it must be Andy Borowitz, too! Really enjoyed it and read it to my husband and he loved it, too!
It's probably posted here already but didn't want anybody to miss it. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Piss-on-Cheneys-Grave/264249486950752?fref=nf
Look what you started!!!
Welcome to DU, Jughead!
Glad you're here! You're correct! I just posted the same thing, not because I happen to know, but because my guy does.
Still pretty funny, though!
So, do I just stand on it...
Dang, what a great collection! LOVE the cat launching and the cartoon "who's next?"!!!! ROFL!!!!!! AND that owl that reminded me of the Venus of Willendorf!
Another STELLAR one, SCE! Thank You and Happy New Year!
Welcome to DU, senz.
Good to have you with us. I wouldn't go quite that far, but it's very unnecessarily an in-yer-face gesture in a very solemn time that is deserving of NOTHING but respect and exemplary behavior - NOT some display that starts making it political. However, I can see how this "gesture," in the context of being the latest in-yer-face by police in a climate of some really obscene police brutality, would be interpreted that way. Police brutality. Seems like we've never gotten beyond it. A complaint leveled by anti-war protesters back in my younger days. But this is overkill - in the starkest sense of the word.
Welcome to DU, both of you! Miigwech and freshman22!
Glad you're both here! Such a sad thing. Adding insult to injury in the most literal sense. They made it about them when it should rightfully be about the fallen officer and his family.
The gutsiest woman in Congress.
Hell - she's the gutsiest anybody in Congress. And she should feel vindicated! Because she alone had it pegged. From the get-go.
LOVE this! Love him!
A real man isn't afraid to do stuff like that. Reminds me of that collection of photos of REAL dads - who not only carry the babies and diaper them and cuddle them but let their little girls dress them up and paint their nails and seat them at their tea parties. Those are some of the sexiest men I've ever seen.
