Raven's JournalIf Clarence Thomas is thinking of retiring, he's got a decision to make...soon. If
he stays on the Court and Trump loses, he may be stuck there for another 8 years. My bet is that he will announce his retirement and give Trump the seat. Tell me what's wrong with my thinking.
Did we deserve RBG? Will we be strong enough to honor her now?
I honestly don't know the answer to that as I sit in my little corner of the world on this mournful Saturday morning. How do we cut through all the chatter and find the path ahead? It must be there, we just have to find it.
Just a thought: RBG had not one moment of rest or retirement in her entire career. She worked
for us right up until the end.
Worst nightmare: They will put someone like Barr on the Court before the election and
the election will be decided by the new court majority.

I think that the key to defeating Trump from this point on is herd immunity.
He clearly and unequivocally floated the concept last night at the ABC Town Meeting and it will now be his default position. By him embracing the concept, he can slither out of any responsibility for fiddling while people died over these last 6 months. He has nothing else except a vaccine that doesn't exist just like his health plan which also doesn't exist.
So, the Biden campaign has to run with this. People need to be told over and over again what herd immunity means to them and their loved ones.
If I was Joe Biden, I would tell the American people that by electing Trump to a second term they are signing the death warrants for over 2 million people and some of those warrants may have their and their loved ones' names on them.
"I'm flapping my lips as fast as I can." Didn't Trump say that tonight? If
he didn't, he should have.

Did the sun come up looking like a dull gold coin? At 46 degrees here in southwestern New Hampshire, it looked more like a humid July morning in the middle of a heat wave. Now the sky is milky white. I can't smell smoke but I've got to wonder if we're seeing the effects of the West Coast fires.

I got my flu shot today because the CDC says I should. Who, in their right mind, is
going to believe Trump or the CDC now on a Covid-19 virus? The only reason I got the flu shot is because it has worked for me for years. I don't feel the same way about a Covid vaccine and I'm betting after today that a lot of other people feel the same way. So Trump, the monster, has created another monster which may well carry on the killing he began.
