kentuck's JournalWould impeachment divide this country moreso than it is already?
I suspect that it might?
But would that be a reason to not impeach if the laws dictated that we must?
Or should we continue to investigate the charges that are in the Mueller Report?
If there was indeed obstruction, then it should be dealt with very harshly, simply for the manner in how it happened. George Washington warned us about foreign entanglements. We should have listened.
Trump says "case closed", "insufficient evidence", goes quiet on Twitter, plans his next strategy...
Reportedly, AG Barr was in Alaska today. What a great time for Mueller to give his statement! We have to assume Mueller's statement was approved by the DOJ and the White House before it was made?
He also announced his resignation today.
If Mr Trump's history is any indication, we can expect a counter attack. Not only will he attack Mueller, he will likely attack the fake media. Also, he would be expected to attack the "traitors" that began this investigation in the first place. As soon as he can get Barr to agree with him, which should not be a difficult task for him, then we might expect an announcement that the AG is going to become much more aggressive in his investigation of the "investigators" traitors).

I think the OLC policy of not indicting a sitting President is the correct policy.
After all, the DOJ is under the Executive Branch. They take their orders from the Executive Branch.
Under what authority could a single individual in the DOJ over-ride the responsibilities of the US Congress?
The Founders put the impeachment clause into the Constitution for a purpose. They set up the Congress as sole deciders on impeaching the President. The Senate would be the jury.
It would not be constitutional, just as Mueller said, for the DOJ to determine, or not determine, whether to indict or not indict a President.
There is only one constitutional way to get rid of a sitting President.
Mueller contradicts AG Barr.
If they had evidence that Donald Trump was not guilty of any crimes, they would have so stated.
That is totally different from what Bill Barr said. Barr declared him innocent.
It is the duty of the Congress to determine if any crimes were committed.
He definitely contradicted AG Barr.
What Mueller is going to say?
A lot of drama and build-up to Mueller's press conference this a.m,.
In my opinion, he will say that he is officially stepping down from the Justice Dept and will be agreeable to speaking with Congress, preferably in a private session.
He wll say little to nothing about Barr or Trump.
If there was anything negative, and the WH has a copy of his presentation, then they would be attacking him on Twitter and elsewhere.
Is it really possible that there is a Republican with courage and integrity?
I am fascinated with the story of Justin Amash. It took courage to do what he has done, especially under the present political circumstances. How dare he betray the Leader!
"But, he is only one Republican", people say.
Yes, he is only one person but history has shown that one person can make a difference.
To borrow Biblical scripture: Luke 4:24 - "Truly I tell you," he continued, "no prophet is accepted in his hometown."
All we need is one courageous Democrat...
To join with Justin Amash, in a bi-partisan effort, to file for an impeachment inquiry.
It could be someone like David Cicilline, the Congressman from Rhode Island. It needs to be someone that understands the gravity of the situation and will need to be on the offensive in their quest to do their duty.
In a bi-partisan way, they could put forth a proposition in the House to open an impeachment inquiry. There is enough evidence to investigate, for sure. It is a dereliction of their Constitutional duty to oversight for the Republicans to oppose this effort of oversight. They must choose which side they wish to be on?
The law must be obeyed. It cannot be covered up. The public needs to know what was in the Mueller report that Donald Trump and the Republicans are so desperately trying to cover up.
If a Democrat can get a bi-partisan agreement with Amash, it would be a very big deal, in my opinion.
Justin Amash may be only one Republican but....
... his argument for impeaching Trump is worth a million Republicans. We should not de-value this very important ally.
How many people will hear?
A question I would like to see be asked of every Republican?
"Can we get you on the record?"
"As part of the Legislative Branch, do you feel any responsibililty to offer oversight of the Executive Branch?"
I think we probably know the answer already?
