Funny. People never quibble about getting tax breaks from the government, but when it comes to...

giving aid directly to people who need it, they raise all kinds of concerns.

If you take mortgage interest deductions on your home or a Republican income tax break, you never hear people say, "hey, I don't need it. I should give it back."

"I got a horse right here. The name is Paul Revere....

And here's a guy that says if the weather's clear
Can do, can do, this guy says the horse can do
If he says the horse can do, can do, can do."

What pressure(s) can Biden exert on McConnell to get him to work with him?

Public pressure is not going to work as McConnell does not care about what the majority of Americans think. He just cares about what Republican voters think, and a failed Biden presidency is the best thing for his base.

So, what other pressure(s) can Biden use to get McConnell to work honestly with the Democrats?

Friend of mine gave me pages from a book that he's writing and asked me for my opinion.

He's a first time author. So, I gave him some notes. Now, we're in a back and forth over my notes. He's writing a SciFi novel, and unless you're completely immersed in background of the story, you won't be able to follow it.

He's starting to get defensive about my notes.

--On edit--
I gave him some suggestions like explain your character motivations better. I suggested writing the scene from the POV of one of the characters which allows you to give some backstory as well as explain things better.

Democrats should learn from Trump

Stop worrying about norms and use your power, esp. executive power, to help people. If the courts over turn you, so be it. You did all that you could to help people.

Someone explain to me how Notre Dame is in the playoffs and Texas A&M is not?

Notre Dame is going to be destroyed by Alabama. It won't be worth watching.

Happy Anniversary, President Trump!

On this day a year ago, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach you. Making you the third U.S. president that was impeached.

The impeachment of Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, was initiated on December 18, 2019, when the House of Representatives approved articles of impeachment on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The Senate acquitted Trump of these charges on February 5, 2020.[2]

Trump's impeachment came after a formal House inquiry alleged that he had solicited foreign interference in the 2020 U.S. presidential election to help his re-election bid, and then obstructed the inquiry itself by telling his administration officials to ignore subpoenas for documents and testimony. The inquiry reported that Trump withheld military aid[a] and an invitation to the White House to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky in order to influence Ukraine to announce an investigation into Trump's political opponent Joe Biden and to promote a discredited conspiracy theory that Ukraine, not Russia, was behind interference in the 2016 presidential election.
