My very Republican father is now hoping for impeachment.

My 71 year old father lives with me so I can take help take care of him; there are chores and things he just can't do on his own any more. He's worked in the defense industry for the past 49 years, and is slated to retire this June when that number rolls to 50. And by "works in the defense industry", I mean his livelihood depends on making things explode from far, far away for the U.S. Military.

We have an agreement, he doesn't watch Fox or OneAmericaNews when I'm home, I wait till he's asleep to watch MSNBC and CNN. We will discuss different stories, and usually keep it fairly high level because of our differences of opinion. Yesterday we were discussing more of the checks and balances Trump is ignoring thru stonewalling Congress. My father said something I never expected to hear....

"The Judiciary branch is strong and WE. WILL. HOLD"

A few weeks ago, a dear old friend, a Republican-appointed federal judge, trying to console me during a moment of despair about the future of our country, said to me “The Judiciary branch is strong and will hold.” When I expressed skepticism, he leaned toward me, looked me dead in the eye, and said as firmly as he could without shouting: “We are strong and WE. WILL. HOLD.”

Today, thanks to Judge Mehta, I think he may be right ...

It would be nice if Tom Steyer used his time and resources to attack and pressure Republicans

instead of going after Democrats.

There are so many things he could focus on, such as Mitch McConnell's abuse of power, Lindsey Graham's wholesale turnover of the Senate Judiciary Committee to the Trump Administration, Republicans who refuse to hold Trump accountable ...

Rotten human beings

To be a Republican in today’s world, you’ve got to be a really shitty human being.

They’re not just people with a different legislative agenda. They’re not just people who have differences with us on the role of government. They don’t care about a functioning government, or about democracy, or decency, or the well being of others, or about anything other than their own power and wealth....

The GOP Has Officially Jumped the Shark

Republicans invariably rely on three issues to rile-up their voters: Christianity, guns, and/or abortion. And when they pulled the abortion issue out of their asses these past few weeks, it was a signal that two out of those three issues are no longer viable as vote-getters.

Playing the Christianity card is a tad difficult when the “pResident” you’re shilling for is a thrice married, self-declared ‘pussy grabber’ who paid off mistresses in order to secure their silence – and who lied repeatedly about those payoffs, only to be exposed in the end.

In view of the rise in the number of school shootings, claiming to be the party that protects gun-owners doesn’t play well with anyone right now. That’s a given....

I believe it is time to begin impeachment investigations.

On Nichole Wallace's show today they talked about the daily show Democrats would be putting on with impeachment hearings - PUBLIC HEARINGS!! It would be riviting, must-see TV.

The American public would be glued to their TVs. They would be watching every day and recording any hearings they might miss. It will be the talk around the water cooler at work. And the public will learn everything we already know and more.

Best of all, the maggot won't be able to upstage us. Even his deplorables will watch. And once the American public knows what happened - has heard the entire story from beginning to end with legal documentation and subpoenaed witnesses it's going to be damned hard for the Senate to get away without full impeachment.

Justin Amash Just Fell Off a Whole Lotta Xmas Card Lists, & Other News From Hell

Well, the news cycle continues to unfold like the novel John Grisham might write if he switched to an all morphine-and-ether diet, but we're all trapped here, so we may as well stay informed. Let's do this shit.

From the state Republican Party that brought you “Legitimate Rape,” comes an exciting new brand in patriarchal condescension: “Consensual Rape!" Yeah, that novel concept was put forth by a melting-vanilla-ice-cream-cone-lookin’ fucker named Barry Hovis, explaining why he was so giddily legislating away women's reproductive rights. I absolutely shudder to imagine the trilogy-completing phrase that'll dribble down one of these miseducated Missouri misogynyokel's rubbery chins some day soon....

I just watched the Trump rally.

There is no way to fact check him in real time.

He tells 3 or 4 lies in one sentence.

It would take hours to go through his speech and point out each lie he told.

The crowd believes everything he says.

They are all insane.
