What was so special about Bernie's 2014 tax return, that made him choose to release ONLY that year

in 2016, but not his 2015 return or his 2013 return of any earlier returns?

In the interests of transparency, which has always been so important to him, here are the amounts.

I know what I think.

https://berniesanders.com/tax-returns/

(2015) 240,622

(2014) 205,617 RELEASED

(2013) 279,724

(2012) 280,954

(2011) 324,870

(2010) 321,596

(2009) 314,742

1. Looks kind of obvious in context, of course.

The thing I don't get is that his supporters wouldn't care. I just don't think that the masses were going to bail on him because he made some money from book deals. Could he really have thought otherwise?

I suppose he could have - there's the carefully-crafted persona to keep up, of course - but it just seems so silly...and a source of unnecessary drama.

20. +1, Obama made money on book deals too ... I wouldn't have cared either. It's the hiding them that

... bothered me

2. "I know what I think. "

Well I donít read minds. What do you think?

I think he released the smallest return and I bet he is touchy about his newfound wealth.

4. Could be, but none of those amounts indicate spectacular wealth.

Good money, yes; but not vast riches in amounts that might embarrass a "socialist." So it's kind of puzzling.

3. Nothing special. He just thought you would like to see it.

All of us Democrats are laughing at the "tempest in a tea pot" imaginary scandal of the returns. The Republicans and conservatives must be so disappointed that they were unremarkable. Just like Bernie said.

10 years of returns are out. Time to move on.

And that also leads to an interesting question. When did she report her $200K severance payment?

25. And so I read quotes like I read today

(don't remember where, unfortunately) that until Bernie wrote his best-seller, he and Jane "only" made a couple hundred thousand a year, mostly his Senate salary.

I'm sure that was true a long time ago, but not after she was appointed President at the college, where she was pulling in about $150K a year. Her income helped put them at around $300K, not $200K. So they were in the top 3% of households at that point.

26. Or you could look at it from the other side of that coin

What's so special about all those other returns that made him choose to release only that year?

Could be nothing. If it's nothing, why not release the returns and prove it's nothing?
