(24,723 posts)Buttegieg?!!!!!
What "demographics" would that cover? Enough to win?
Hate to sound craven...but, on politics I think most if not ALL our D candidates make it!!!
I like them all - Castro, Booker, Warren, Swalwell, Inslee
Embarrassment of riches!
On edit: I like Bernie and Joe, too, but ready for new blood, and I think their perspectives are covered by the above.

Sick of old people? He looks like Alex P. Keaton.
Scared of young people? He looks like Alex P. Keaton.
Religious? Hes a Christian.
Atheist? Hes not weird about it.
Wary of Washington? Hes from flyover country.
Horrified by flyover country? He has degrees from Harvard and Oxford.
Make the President Read Again? He learned Norwegian to read Erlend Loe.
Traditional? Hes married.
Woke? Hes gay.
Way behind the rest of the country on that? Hes not too gay.
Worried about socialism? Hes a technocratic capitalist.
Worried about technocratic capitalists? Hes got a whole theory about how our system of democratic capitalism has to be a whole lot more democratic.
If you squint hard enough to not see color, some people say, you can almost see Obama the inspiring professor.
Oh, and hes the son of an immigrant, a Navy vet, speaks seven foreign languages (in addition to Norwegian, Arabic, Spanish, Maltese, Dari, French, and Italian), owns two rescue dogs, and plays the goddamn piano.
Hes actually terrifying. What mother wouldnt love this guy?

(428 posts)....I'm undecided for a variety of cynical reasons (my primary vote never counts despite being in one of the bluest states in the country, lack of actual faith in our process, etc.). But he's the closest to someone making me want to get off the bench based off of what I've seen so far.

(507 posts)I'm back to being Undecided. Just too many Educated, Qualified, and dammit, I just like 'em, Candidates for me to commit at the moment. Plus, being 1 1/2 years out, who knows what may happen. I do know this, I just suffered through 30 minutes of fux news while sitting with my elderly Dad, and jeez, they are pulling out all the stops trying their best to have Democrats fight amongst themselves.
Seems GOP has got that tactic pretty much locked down.

(4,446 posts)But if she doesn't win the nomination, I would be very happy with Buttegieg. What's different about this year is that there are multiple candidates whom I would vote for (as opposed to just voting against the Republican).
