Sharrod Brown: Trump's claims are 'a slap in the face' to auto workers
WASHINGTON – Sen. Sherrod Brown said President Donald Trump’s claim Monday that automotive companies are opening up new plants in Ohio is “a slap in the face” to 1,600 workers in northeast Ohio losing their jobs next month with the closure of General Motors’ Lordstown plant.Speaking at the White House Monday to Ohio Gov. The Associated Press fact-checked similar claims by Trump and found them untrue.
Brown said Trump “makes lots of big promises but has failed to stand up for auto workers time and time again. His comments are a slap in the face to Lordstown workers.”
