Don't Expect Bernie To Drop Out Just Yet
<snipped>
I want the senator to stay in,” Nina Turner, a national co-chair of the Sanders campaign, told the New York Times on Monday. “I think other voters have a right to have a choice. This is not a coronation. We know what happened last time in 2016—it gave us Donald J. Trump.” But some in Sanders’ camp have urged him to stay in the race because they still see a potential avenue to victory. “I don’t think anyone can predict for sure what’s going to happen between now and the end of this primary contest,” Charles Chamberlain, chairman of the Democracy for America political action committee, told Politico, suggesting Sanders could nab the nomination at a brokered convention should neither candidate reach the delegate threshold outright. “There’s plenty of time, plenty of delegates left, and this game can change at any minute. https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/03/dont-expect-bernie-to-drop-out-just-yet Bern it Down part II?

2. This makes my blood boil:
"We know what happened last time in 2016"
YEAH WE DO NINA. And your boss never took responsibility for his role in what happened. And neither did you or your cohorts, many of whom voted third party or stayed home. And now, you and your candidate seem poised to do it all over again. How DARE you talk about "what happened last time in 2016". ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

6. Nina
could not even win her election in Northern Ohio. I put little faith in her. She is a political hanger on. Who ever will hire her.

3. At this rate there won't be another primary.
After today, it's possible they get their wish and all the other primaries are postponed. Then what? Bernie contests the virtual convention by saying Biden didn't win a majority of delegates and since most states didn't vote, we truly don't know who the nominee is and therefore, it should go to a brokered convention.

11. There can't really be a brokered convention, or any convention
if delegates aren't elected from each of the states. The superdelegates can't vote until the delegates do, and you can't have a convention with fewer than half of the delegates.
Unless there are emergency rule changes. Besides, a brokered convention means the superdelegates will vote on the second round, and very few will be voting for Bernie. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

12. It does mean there will be an emergency rule change.
Similar to what happened in 2008 with MI and FL where both Obama and Clinton were given delegates in states that technically voted but didn't have their votes count.
My guess is that it'll happen in these states similarly. Problem is, it'll only embolden their cries of disenfranchisement and that the nomination was stolen from him. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

4. We need to ignore them.
We should pivot to the general and ignore them and any of their supporters who believe he is truly still in this race.

5. He will not be happy until he burns our party to the ground.
I have more than had it with him. A vast majority of the people who continue to support him will never vote for a democrat. We need to quit pandering to them. I hope Joe can beat him badly enough people see him for what he truly is.

16. That's not true.
Polls right now from one of the states that already voted show that about 80% of Sanders voters will vote Biden. I predict that number will reach 90% by fall. In my admittedly anecdotal experience, the seven Bernie supporters I know, my mom included, will happily get behind Biden in the general. Most Bernie voters aren’t like those toxic assholes on social media.

They really are completely detached from reality, aren't they?

9. Nina needs to understand that a primary is not an election...and in every primary some don't vote...
Ohio rarely matters in a primary. This is the same old excuse they used before.

10. Nina, no one expects Sanders to quit.
As a matter of fact, we know the course Sanders will take. The selfish endless campaign that hopes to drag the whole Party down. And I don’t mean the Republican Party.
Once his tactics fail, he’ll Independent his status again. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

13. Someone needs to explain the electoral college to them.
I have often said (in 2016) and now, that at some point , Bernie has no pathway to a win. When I ask them "what pathway do they see for a Bernie win, they often start calling me names and they end the conversation.
They continue to think that Bernie has a chance as long as the primaries last. Someone needs to explain to them, that very soon, mathematically, Bernie can't get the delegates to surpass Biden. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

15. I've seen this movie. It was shitty the first time too.
In 2016, Sanders stayed in WELL past the point of viability.
He'll do so again now. And that's why he is such a bad politician. He can't bring himself to back off. Ever. For example, it's why he voted against the 2008 bailout. It wasn't "good enough" for him, and he'd rather the economy collapse than we get something less than optimal. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

17. I guess its why he's accomplished nothing
in his legislative career. It has to be his way or no way. And then he hangs on so long that you hate his guts.
Like they say- Fish, and company go bad in 3 days. Bernie's gone bad 3 years ago. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |
