1. No.
While there are many women who are admirable, we do not need a VP who has to undergo a learning curve. We need a VP with:
Legislative experience. Understanding the dynamics of the House and Senate and already knowing the people who serve. Experience questioning in hearings. On day one the VP will have to hit the ground running to carry out the Presidents agenda and do so with successful messaging. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

There is just so much to rebuild/reverse/rethink. Kamala is the better fit. I'm sure the other 2 ladies can be appointed to other positions in the administration, as there will be great need of good Dem leaders as they.

I've been on DU for years and don't post much, but this mention of Susan Rice got me to look for speeches of hers. In this one: [link:| -- she's speaking last year for Class Day at Tufts, she shows a lot of wit and that quality everyone talks about, likability.
I hope Joe Biden seriously considers her. But then, I like Val Demings, too. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

It says she was born "while Mum was still studying to become a doctor in London."
That says London is where her mother was pursuing a medical degree, not where she gave birth. She doesn't specifically say there where she was born. The Irish Times article is the same one quoted in her Wiki entry. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

42. Don't understand the commenters saying she doesn't have the "experience"
She's been in politics basically her entire life. Advocating a president's policy goals to legislators doesn't require having actually been a legislator. And she's probably second to none in the ability to deal with foreign governments, given her foreign policy and ambassador background. IMO would be a much stronger ticket than someone like Stacy Abrams, a current favorite amongst many here, and much more able to hit the ground running if something happened to Biden.

64. I love Rice as VP
I hope Biden hasn't already shut the door on her by saying he prefers the ones he debated already.
He needs a woman, and he needs her to be black. Stacy Abrams, sounded great, but we don't really know her. Kamala sounds like the front runner, but I do have reservations about her, from her making funny faces when Schummer told her to be more respectful, to her past in San Francisco climbing the ladder with Willie Brown's help. Val Demings got me excited because she was great during the impeachment hearings, but I don't know if she has any negatives I'm not aware of. Susan Rice is awesome, and she has been vetted, Susan Rice it is for me. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |
