Else, our little 'contributions' are best described as a petulant strain of "it does not follow."

(24,470 posts)I know my chosen candidate won't win so I've donated to Joe and will probably vote for him next Tuesday in California.
I'm just not feeling the Bern.
I love Joe!

(2,706 posts)In states where she could win or pass 15%, vote for her.
In states where she could not, vote for the second choice, if that person could win or get 15%.

(2,020 posts)I think that we all need to be pragmatic, like you clearly are, at this moment in history. I just hope the Bernie folks can make the switch and vote for Joe if he wins the primary. I know that if Bernie wins the primary, I will definitely vote for him, even though he wasn't my first choice. Anything to "flush the turd on November 3rd"!

(81,189 posts)We might have to ease America into the idea of a woman Chief Executive, after what we saw against Hillary Clinton.
Maybe the best way forward toward a woman president is to get America used to a woman on the ticket - assuming its a winning ticket. A woman Vice President would be superbly positioned to go for the top job.
I must admit Im still smarting from the still-painful wounds from 2016 and what was done to Hillary. Pulling away to the proverbial looking at it from 30-thousand feet buzz phrase, my takeaway was that America may still be nervous about voting for a woman for the top job - even when presented with a candidate who was smart, creative, nimble-minded, fabulously experienced, and who already knew the turf AND all the players nationally and internationally.
So maybe the country has to be eased into this idea. Maybe weve spent WAY too long seeing the woman up on that stage - in the role of WIFE-of-candidate, instead of THE candidate. In a supporting role, not THE role.
Maybe America has an even bigger problem with gender than with race?
Just some thoughts, anyway.

(13,033 posts)had alot to do with it. That said, I think if we had a female VP it would ease things in. IMO the country isn't yet ready for a woman POTUS, sad as it is. It is insane that the world's greatest superpower is not as progressive as Pakistan, the Phillipines, and other developed countries. We are in the 21st century for goodness sake.

(2,657 posts)This is good news for Joe Biden!
Amy is awesome. She's really smart, awesome to listen to, and really understands how to bring Democrats and Republicans together. Lots of us Biden supporters really like Amy. If Joe weren't running, Amy would be next on my list. She's still young enough to make the White House happen. Maybe she ends up with a stepping stone to the White House, like VP or Secretary of State?
Anyway, thanks again. Once we get Trump out, all things are possible.

(47,361 posts)for many years and I have to say, I wasn't sure if running for president this time was a good idea. I really wanted him to run 2016. Our field of candidates was so limited, I think he could have done very well.
This time, I was afraid that his time had passed and he might be too late, but it didn't take long for me to get enthused about him as a candidate again. He definitely is getting stronger each day and now we're seeing more of the old Joe and he looks more presidential than ever.

(47,361 posts)and I could tell it was difficult for him. For so many years, he was always in the public eye and communicating was second nature for him. Anyone who has been away from the public eye is bound to be a bit wobbly for awhile. I think all the enthusiasm about last night will energize him and give him renewed confidence.
Also, I have to say that after Beau's death, there was a certain undeniable sadness there that I hadn't seen before. That probably will never go away.

(12,265 posts)I think Super Tuesday is going to be very different than some candidates and MSM think. After Super Tuesday, we need to be down to two candidates. Once that happens you will see that BS does not have as much support as he thinks he does. Unless the Republicans and the Russians, one and the same, do something shady to the machines.

(16,886 posts)Just gave him another donation and filled out my CA ballot and am taking it to the Office of Registar and getting it in.
Spoke to several people here in CA who were either undecided or on edge about who to choose and each one said after last nights debate, watching Sanders and seeing what is happening in our country, that there is no question he is the one to go with and the only one who can beat Trump.
Everyone loved his comment about nominating a black woman for the Supreme Court. And all of them are hoping its either a Woman as running mate or black running mate, preferably a black woman.
