Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumStill LOVE Mayor Pete....but I switched Tuesday
Sen. Warren was always my 2nd choice, but her performance Tuesday night (ESPECIALLY calling Bloomberg out on his NDA bullshit!!!!) moved her into the Number 1 Spot on my Election playlist.
She would OWN Trump in debates!
Election Avatar Reset and Warren is now my Candidate!
Lastly -- I do not understand how any woman (or any human) could support Bloomberg after his responses to the NDAs. I want to defeat Trump, but do not want to hold my nose as I do....

(20,629 posts)as the same two candidates were at the top of my list. Attended both of their town halls in my area the weekend prior to the caucus, and that made the choice even more difficult, as they both came off so well. Ended up going with Pete in the end, and maybe it was a case of me "playing pundit".
I was still totally thrilled with what Elizabeth did last night, and want to see her in this race for a LONG time, to give the maximum number of voters the opportunity to cast a vote for her.

(53,061 posts)To focus on any other aspect of a Presidential candidate doesn't enhance them but diminishes them.
For that reason I would absolutely rejoice over a Warren/Buttigieg ticket.

(145 posts)I really, really like his attitude and poise. However, I have to admit that the President's job rides on the shoulders of other people. Mayor Pete simply does not have the network of knowledgeable people...YET.
This guy WILL win this office someday and if he DOES win this time -- he will adapt and do an amazing job!
Plus -- need some class to polish up the image of the 1st Spouse.
Kind of cool that is either of my top candidates win -- we will have the first - First Gentlemen!

(628 posts)And Mayor Bloomberg is a self-made billionaire who is not a sadist, which earns him my vote should he somehow recover from last night.
Why?
Because the current occupant is a sadist, a sexual abuser, a thin skinned complaint manufacturing machine, an unindicted co-conspirator and a serial bankrupt, who walks, talks and acts like a confidence trickster.
Senator Warren will eat the GOP's "alternative facts" for lunch and breath righteous fire 🔥 full of verifiable FACTS back.
And she will bait & bait & bait the narcissistic president into debating her.
What's he going to say? No, I'm scared of the woman? Bawhahaha!

(11,451 posts)on SiriusXM and said she was from Tennessee and that they have early voting. She was planning on voting for Biden, wasnt going to watch debate but wanted to check out Bloomberg before she voted.
She ended up calling Elizabeths campaign and donating money and going to vote for her. She thinks she has the fight we need to take on Trump along with being smart yet compassionate.
She sounded my age 60s and I am thinking Liz must have won over a lot last night.

(5,801 posts)Agree with the positive comments about Mayor B's temperament and future, but Elizabeth has the knowledge and experience to do the job now. She's not afraid and cares about helping the most people, which will show the Grand Canyon divide between her and red don.
And, she would shred him in debates, or at arm's length through the media if he refuses to debate her in person.

So when she announced, I followed. But I'm wavering because she did so poorly in NH and Iowa.
I hope she comes on stronger now and I can vote with confidence for her.

(4,484 posts)as well as what the polls look like for my state on Super Tuesday, I'm thinking if switching to Warren or Buttigieg.
I still really like Biden and hope he can pull out that win in SC so I can vote for him and feel like I'm picking the person who can best beat Trump.
But if he loses both badly and doesn't stand a chance in my home state, I'll probably switch to the next closest candidate that does stand a chance who I also think can beat Trump.
I guess that's a long post to get to the point of saying I'm starting to consider Pete after his debate performance last night, and Warren, too.

(29,199 posts)Pete, Joe, Amy, and Mike (and even Elizabeth) need to have a meeting and flip coins or whatever to decide the single candidate to carry the flag forward.
Otherwise they will watch the delegate majority go to the one candidate that cannot possibly win in November.
Even if that majority of delegate isn't enough to put someone in nomination in the first ballot, it will tear up the party if the nomination goes to someone else by appealing to the super delegates.
And if he gets the nomination, we will lose the Senate, lose the House, and give Trump a landslide (electorally speaking).
