New York Rep. Nita Lowey, who’s retiring at the end of this term after more than three decades in Congress, announced Thursday that she’s all in for Bloomberg’s bid for the White House.
In an endorsement statement obtained exclusively by the Daily News, the 82-year-old congresswoman praised the billionaire ex-mayor as the type of go-getter the Democratic Party needs to unseat President Trump.
“Mike and I have worked together for years in New York, and whether it’s homeland security or gun safety, there’s no one you can depend on more to get important initiatives over the finish line,” Lowey said. “After four years of the damage Donald Trump has inflicted on our nation, we need someone who knows how to get things done from day one in the Oval Office."
