And FWIW, the best thing Klobuchar could have done would have been to ask Buttigieg if he'd ever forgotten a name. I'm sure Buttigieg would have had to admit he has, and if he'd claimed he's never forgotten a name, it wouldn't have gotten a sympathetic response from viewers.

Her trying to say her humbleness in admitting to a mistake is something we should want in a president wasn't as effective as just pointing out that people forget names at times.

So her strategy seems to be to coalesce support from moderates to present the strongest establishment alternative. Although she did put the gloves on him at one point as well I believe over responsibility for the behavior of his surrogates.

routinely shows vast ignorance not only of names but of important policy issues and facts. He lies incessantly.

Warren's pointing out, correctly, that it is far more important to be knowledgeable about US-Mexican relations that to avoid ever blanking on a name.

Klobuchar still looked pretty bad, and deservedly so.

Warren disappointed me there.

Re-read my post, that is what I was saying. I just think that Warren slightly reduced the damage.

But not too much. Klobuchar looked like the bully that she is, and came across as very un-presidential.

Amy lacked knowledge about the question she was asked. She didn't blank on the name, she didn't know it.

And she misrepresented the point that Mayor Pete was making. But that's what Amy does.

Tough, sparring debates make candidates tougher for the general election.

Their policies, ideas, and debating skills need to undergo stress tests. For instance, we're seeing Bloomberg is not up to this process.

I, for one, don't mind a tough series of back-and-forths like this.

don't matter to him, policy doesn't matter to him; this is a good warm-up for THAT. It's who can come across like the quicker witted and "tougher", for lack of a better term. One debate like this (early on, too) won't hurt us, but it can't devolve into this every time.

Like in football we need a candidate who can take the hits and is strong enough to shake off the pain and be ready for the next play. Trump isn't going to let up. He's going to hit our nominee over and over again and our nominee needs to be ready for it and ready to hit him back.
