Jon Ralston says he's been told Sanders supporters posted Culinary Union leader's home #, cell phone

.@meganmesserly asks Geo Kline, the union's leader, to comment on "vicious" attacks from Sanders supporters they talked about Wednesday. She won't. I have been told they have posted her home #, cell phone, etc. The usual nasty stuff. They are not all like this, but too many.
If I were to vote in a presidential

DES MOINES, Iowa — Campaign staffers for Sen. Bernie Sanders donned union pins to gain access to worker dining rooms in Las Vegas, the powerful Culinary Workers union said Thursday.

“We can confirm multiple reports of Bernie Sanders’ campaign staffers attempting and gaining access to employee dining rooms at Las Vegas Strip properties where over 57,000 members that we represent work,” said Geoconda Arguello-Kline, Culinary Workers Union Local 226 secretary-treasurer.

Sanders supporters may not know the name of Argüello-Kline offhand, but they absolutely know the name of Neera Tanden and the Center for American Progress, a “liberal” think tank closely associated with the Clintons and a longtime opponent of progressive politics, where Argüello-Kline is a board member. Tanden and the CPA are perhaps Sanders's most public enemies, and Argüello-Kline attacking him on behalf of the culinary union makes a lot more sense when you know that association. Amazingly, she tried the same attack strategy in 2016 before those caucuses!

They failed again this time, as the rank and file smelled a rat, and the union announced no endorsement...

There seems to be ALOT of them on DU. Some from 10, 20, or 30 years ago even.

Sorry, I though the last time Bernie ran, and his campaign staff improperly entered union work places, was relevant. As, you know, it was in Las Vegas.

This wouldn't be much of a surprise if it's true. It's been a pattern when it looks like an organization is going to endorse someone other than Sanders. I would hope it's just a tiny fraction of his supporters, but it's obvious that this isn't an isolated incident.

Thu Feb 13, 2020, 06:03 PM

Sat Feb 15, 2020, 08:23 PM

The liberal Sun would no longer exist without the operating agreement with the Review Journal which preceded Adelson's ownership by decades. Adelson would have put the sun out of business by now if not for the court-mandated operating agreement. Adelson and the Review Journal are now in court trying to void the agreement.

Operating agreements like this are common in a world dominated by Hearst papers and are the only reason many smaller liberal papers still exist.
