drop out before Super Tuesday, and consolidate behind one of the candidates.

Unless someone can get the required delegates to cinch the nomination before going into the Convention, I think the potential for chaos is significant

Or is he saying that GOP crossed over and gave Amy and Pete votes to stop Sanders?

Cause I remember DU outrage when it was speculated that GOP voters were rigging Dem primaries by voting for Sanders in 2016.
