Mayors come to Buttigieg's defense over Biden ad
https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/482183-mayors-come-to-buttigiegs-defense-over-biden-ad
Several mayors across the nation came to Pete Buttigieg’s defense after former Vice President Joe Biden released a critical ad saying the former South Bend, Ind., mayor was too inexperienced to be elected president. The mayors pounced both on the ad and a comment from Rob Flaherty, the digital director of Biden’s presidential campaign, saying that the ad had more views than the population of South Bend. “This is disrespectful to those of us who deal with the issues facing our communities EVERY DAY....while we get no movement from the Capitol in DC,” tweeted Dayton, Ohio Mayor Nan Whaley, a Buttigieg backer. more at link

1. Is Buttigieg a FORMER mayor?
I thought he was still in office.

2. No, his term expired in January. I think they have term limits in South Bend.

3. I am glad to hear that other mayors are coming to Pete's defense.
Biden's ad was over the top and just wrong.
I greatly admire Nan Whaley, the mayor of Dayton. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

6. Yeah, I'm afraid that ad is going to backfire.
At any rate, Buttigieg is handling it with his usual class.

8. Definitely backfired in my case
I've been leaning towards Biden, but this really pushes me away from him (along with the Iowa results and national trends)
It's not so much the attacks on his experience as a mayor which is fair game even if he is extra dismissive here. It's playing the race card in such a clumsy and desperate way that really bothers me. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

7. Team Biden blew it with this nasty little hit piece.
It's like when Annthrax Coulter tried to reduce emergency medicine to nothing but removing gummy bears from orifices.
