Bloomberg gave Johns Hopkins $1.8 billion for financial aid

Former New York City mayor and billionaire Michael Bloomberg gave $1.8 billion to Johns Hopkins University for student financial aid at his alma mater.

Bloomberg said the money will be used for aid for qualified low and middle-income students and will make the Baltimore, Maryland university’s admissions permanently “need-blind.”

“I want to be sure that the school that gave me a chance will be able to permanently open that same door of opportunity for others,” he wrote in the Times.

1. Ah, I forgot about that. Contrast that against Fat Nixon stealing from his charity.

Plus, Bloomberg's father was a bookkeeper for a dairy company, unlike Fred Trump the greasy, discriminatory real estate developer. Contrast silver spoon versus "self-made." I'm moving more and more into the Bloomberg camp. He'd just need to be REALLY smart about who he'd pick as VP.

makes me feel better about it, at least.

I mean, the system SUCKS. (not specifically the DNC part of it ... the whole system). We have to deal with it in whatever way works. If that means we run an almost-Republican (well, almost what Republicans used to be), if that's what it takes to eject tRump, so be it.

but I'm really getting worried about November. And what Trump will do between now and then. We MUST win PA, WI, and MI and watch out for MN since Rethuglicans are targeting it so hard.

Losing in November would be far, far worse than having to "settle" for a candidate we don't 100% agree with.

....to students. The other money was used for capital construction, particularly a new Public Health school - the Bloomberg School of Public Health.

He's given more than $6B to various charities and causes, along with hundreds of millions to DEMOCRATIC candidates all over the country.
