2. Brother, when you race in Vermont, it screws with the conventional wisdom HARD

Bernie was a really good Mayor, for reasons the moss-backed turtles that pass for Vermont Republicans despise. He worked at it, like he worked at being a mediocre carpenter, but he had a better skill set for politics.
His little bits of "theater " - like the Pothole Bandit story - burn the stolid, Middle Of Main Street, Mister! Vt. GOP (the "townies&quot worse that an open flame, for all the WRONG reasons. These are the same folks who cursed the damm hippies for being too decent, and caring more about good land management (+ 1000 similar issues), than whether Memorial Day is valid anymore because Monday.
The Ya, well ya know indicators tell me these VT-GOP knumbskulls would'nt "get" Bernie Sanders because he strips them of the "tools" they've gotten over with for a century or more.

Phil Scott wants no part of the "tooling" from the RNC. He got to the Governorship by the "Dean Route" - a succesful professional doing his part for the community. Doc Dean fixed kids, days, Phil Scott moved dirt skillfully (Dupont Construction). They act like old pro's, because they are mature professionals.(Tradecraft says pro's use better tools!) Bernie's a political professional, 'cuz he done it good. Phil Scott learned marketing and branding from big league pro Ken Squier and Tom Curley. Thunder Road was a master class in PR and Marketing every week, with a big league announcer, national sponsors, etc, + and.... It was also Ken Squier supporting the prep school where he learned his trade.

The Key to understanding the lunatic projection by the GOP, all around? It's townies and soreheads, caring far more for their "order" than fact.

3. And MAD AS HELL

That the ruffians, backhoe men, car dealers, and too damm many hippies (they cheat by getting haircuts! no fair!), mechanics,daredevils and wildmen, ana a badass woman prototype or 2 (Tracie Bellerose beats the boys up bad, and breaks their hearts too!) are having BIG, LOUD FUN Thursday nights, and eating their lunch at the day job, cuz `skills and good people.

FWIW, the townies seem to despise the horse & ox pulling people for similar "wrongs".. Even while writing them checks for teaching their daughter's horse show-jumping, Maybe the kid will learn from the horse.....
