Michael Bennet's first House endorsement is from Trump Country
PoliticoMANCHESTER, N.H. — Michael Bennet secured his first congressional endorsement Thursday — and it’s from a frontline member from Trump Country.
Rep. Jared Golden of Maine threw his support behind the Colorado senator ahead of the New Hampshire primary. Bennet, a longshot candidate who struggled in Iowa and hasn’t registered in polls, is staking his campaign on New Hampshire, holding 50 town halls here.
Though Golden keeps a relatively low-profile compared to other freshman in his class, he is still a coveted endorsement — particularly for 2020 contenders hoping to sell their electability.
