A Biden/Bloomberg or Bloomberg/Biden ticket would destroy Trump

And yes, I know -- we can't have two 70somethings on the ticket. Or two white men, since we need diversity.

Though this would be the first Catholic-Jewish ticket.

Anyway, there have been some recent GE polls showing Bloomberg doing very well against Trump, almost as well as Biden, who's been consistently doing better against Trump than his Democratic rivals for a year now.

Biden has vice presidential experience, foreign policy experience, legislative experience, and unmatched empathy.

Bloomberg has business experience, mayoral experience in NYC, and a sharp intellect with a New Yorker's ability to go after Trump where it hurts.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

business perspective. Bloomberg is worth 50 billion and totally self made. He is also a philanthropist. He could shred Trump on the one thing his followers love to tout. His money that was given to him by his dad and Trump's atrocious record of losing billions on bad deals.

Mainly because of what the OP said - it's not a dealbreaker, but I feel like a ticket with two white males doesn't really reflect who our party is anymore. Also, Bloomberg doesn't bring anything to the ticket geographically, and that ticket doesn't give progressives much to be excited about. Bloomberg was also Guiliani's handpicked successor for NYC mayor, and his record as mayor is pretty mixed. He wasn't good to unions, and don't get me started on his atrocious stop and frisk policies.

I think if Biden wins the nomination he should pick a VP who adds more diversity and ideally throws a bone to the progressives. I think Warren or Harris would be a good VP choice for Biden. Klobuchar wouldn't be a bad choice either.

How will that play with the rest of the country?

I do agree that Bloomberg will be a big factor. I am not counting him out of anything.

with Bloomberg. At least not with the Democrats I have seen. Maybe they will, after some vetting.

We want someone strong who can beat trump. That tops everything else.

Why?

Joe Biden could dismantle Trump's presidency.
Bloomberg could dismantle Trump's self-confidence (ego, narcissism, and generally his mind)

Trump would come unglued before our eyes.

Biden and Bloomberg would tear into Trump like no tomorrow. But . . . two 70-something white guys on the Dem ticket would be unpopular this time around.

Which is why our nominee has to be smart and savvy about running-mate choices.

But interesting idea!

Sun Feb 2, 2020, 04:22 PM

I am really liking (almost) all of our remaining candidates, each of whom is worthy. Some are likely electable than others.

If Biden were to win, I would love to see some these as possible D tickets:

* Biden/Warren
* Biden/Harris
* Biden/Klobuchar
* Biden/Bloomberg
* Biden/Schiff

I think any of these would trounce Dear Impeached Leader.

I really do like Mayor Pete too, but I think he needs to get at least one statewide office under his belt.

Indiana.

Of course, after doing so well so far in the presidential primary, he might have a much better chance at winning statewide office there.

I'd say governor, but we're only 5 days away from the filing deadline.

Republican senator Todd Young is up for re-election in 2022. He beat Evan Bayh in 2016, but I don't know if he could beat Buttigieg.

He's already said that if he doesn't get the nomination his anti trump campaign would continue until November. If he was on the ticket, it will be no problem to match and surpass trump's vast resources.
