(789 posts)FUCK THAT. Biden did not have time to give a substantive response in this situation, and I don't make the mistake of thinking this is his summary judgment, but getting real does not look like ignoring and minimizing the plight of Americans unable to access health care. Getting real might mean standing up to be counted as a leader to mend the bustedness of our health care system. Anecdote: I have a moderately high likelihood of colon cancer due to family history and early life environmental factors. I had a colonoscopy a few months back.. no cancer just yet. Was billed $700 for procedure, and then, a couple of days ago, got a bill for $6000 for anesthesia, which my insurer graciously agreed to pay $327. If I knew I had the option of enduring the procedure unanaesthetized then I would have, for $5700.
So, by all means, why don't we get real? It does seem like time to get real.

get real my currently-cancer-free ass. this shit matters more than a one-liner.

(21,624 posts)This was when Congress was about to pass Obama's Stimulus - after which, you'll recall, the market pulled back from the Bush nosedive, and the recovery began shortly thereafter.
Was a great day.

Joe gave him a well delivered Borscht Belt politician's one liner. Both apropos for the respective candidates.

(34,857 posts)Biden didn't alienate anyone. This dude was purposely trolling, trying to get a rise out of Biden and Biden quickly realized it and clapped back with arguably one of the best one-liners of the campaign season.
