Castro assails media for derailing Harris, holding her to double standards

Once again, Castro says the quiet part out loud and is speaking a lot of truth here.

1. This is the way you poison the primary campaign and lose general elections.

The media is poor at covering all the candidates as far as I am concerned. EW and KH have been
damaged by inherent misogyny (Amy, too) and Biden by agism, others by lack of attention. Turning our
candidates into victims only serves to divide our party and leaves lingering resentment that
plays into Trump's hands as it did with Bernie supporters in 16.

Let each candidate take responsibility for their campaign, successful or not.

2. What he should be taking away from this is that his own sell-by date has long passed.

And should drop out himself.

6. They all Knew this going in

And thought they could overcome those issues.

We can all feel disgust at the process. But the battle field is set, you have to deal with the obstacles.

8. I agree with him

I heard Tim Wise put it in stark terms when I heard him speak in reference to the standard US cultural norm is that "people of color get the deficit of the doubt, and white people get the benefit of the doubt." Witness our criminal INjustice system, and willingness to forgive mistakes white people make. It's yet another expression of white supremacy.

13. Exactly, no diversity at the top of the field,

not just Kamala. And you have talented/attractive people like Kamala, Booker, Castro. Beto was a charismatic white guy with the Latino name most known for fighting for brown people, and he was bounced early also.

Fact is that IA/NH (two small white states unrepresentative of the Dem party or America) go first sets the narrative. The fact that Obama won IA has more to do with anti-Hillary/sexism and the Iraq War, also happened in a time before Birtherism/Trumpism/Tea Party. Obama was also a once in a generation talent - it shouldn't take superhuman talent to win. Kamala/Booker/Castro have enough charm - more than the top 4 candidates now, that's for sure, who are blah and boring for PoC, almost reminiscent of the pre-92 era with the Dukakis, Tsongas, Mondale type of candidates.

9. How were the stories unfair?

It's obvious there was alot of truth to them since she dropped out shortly afterward.

Reminds me of Trump blaming the news when they report the truth about him.
And just another example of Castro playing the racial division card. Seems to be the only one he has.

15. Admittedly, I don't sit around watching cable news 24/7, but with impeachment and the Trump....

reality show, how many of our candidates have gotten the media's attention? Some are complaining about MSNBC not covering their candidate adequately, and they're calling for a boycott. Should there be daily reports from every campaign on all the major networks? They've never been particularly kind to Joe Biden, but complaining about coverage, or the lack thereof, is meaningless at this point. Trump gripes all the time about unfavorable coverage, so I'm not sure what the media is supposed to do.
