1. How 'bout that!
I mean, Biden is still ahead in the averages.
But things just got a lot more interesting - especially coming so close to Iowa. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

2. This is nothing big. Emerson has been a quasi-outlier throughout the polling process, and....
...considering their MOA this is just about where the "top" three candidates have been since September.

3. Emerson produces Pro-Bernie outliers
On the other hand , other polling organizations consistently place Bernie in the 12% support range nationwide …..The truth is somewhere in between Emerson's 27% and 12%... Perhaps 19%

5. Surprised to see Sanders getting so much traction with Latino voters.
He struggled a little bit there last time around.

6. A bit, but by the end of the election he had gained quite a bit of ground.
His campaign has focused on gaining their support this go around.

8. That's often an excuse used by bad campaigns.
Throw in a tablespoon of media-bias and a dash of poor polling methodology, and you'll hit the trifecta of rationalizations.

9. Bernie was leading in national polls by June 2016 despite campaigning against...
...one of the most well-known politicians in history. There's merit to the argument people didn't know who he was throughout most of the campaign. Buttigieg is facing the same problem with communities of color now.

11. IMO Nevada is going to be particularly important this year.
All the candidates should be looking to convince Latino voters.

10. Dems had better hope this poll is wrong, since it shows Trump with net approval rather than
disapproval, and support for impeachment dropping.
This particular Emerson poll shows Trump with an approval rating up 4 points since last month, and a couple points higher even than Rasmussen Reports is finding (and Rasmussen Reports typically shows a higher approval rating for Trump than any other poll finds). ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

12. It's clearly an outlier as it has been for months.
It's unlikely that all of the other polls are 7-15% off on Sanders. No one else has had him higher than 20% in months.
