Biden Predicts GOP Epiphany
From Monday's K street fundraiser:
"With Donald Trump out of the way, you’re going to see a number of my Republican colleagues have an epiphany. Mark my words. Mark my words,” Biden said. snip On the same day Biden made his remarks, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was just a few blocks away at the White House, boasting about how he blocked Merrick Garland from getting a seat on the Supreme Court. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/joe-biden-k-street-epiphany_n_5dc332d9e4b00551388225e7 For those who think this is part of a strategy it is clear ater many similar statements now that Biden believes it, even after eight years as Obama's vice-president and seeing their obstructiuon firsthand.

I wish more people could see that, but the opposite view is almost universal here.
Bleating out "screw the Republicans" at every opportunity probably won't go over too well with many independents, a group that has become more and more likely to vote Democratic of late. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

49. Save it for the general election
I want a candidate who is 100% committed to Democratic values and policies. If compromises are to be made, when a policy is negotiated (not before the conversation begins!) the GOP can move to their left for a change. We have been creeping to the right at their behest for far too long.

Biden and a couple of other candidates are already targeting Trump and looking to sway all possible voters, including independents, with the general election in mind. That will only help the eventual nominee.
We need to appeal to them throughout the process, not just after a nominee is chosen. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

They would rather call themselves independents because they know enough to be ashamed that they're as self absorbed and greedy as republicans. Democrats have enabled and comforted them for way too long.

Voters are fairly clear about what they would like from a Democrat. They prefer, by 82% to 11%, one who promises to find common ground over one who promises to fight for a progressive agenda; and they prefer a moderate over a liberal, 75% to 19%.

It's good strategy to assume that. It's good politics. It also has the ring of truth. It is only their success at lying, cheating, and mugging the Constitution that emboldens the Republicans.
