Here's a nice photo of the people who attended Bernie's rally in Queens.

Well, at least I think it's the Queens rally. In any case, just look at all those happy faces!

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

He made it possible for my candidate, Elizabeth Warren, to say "the system is rigged" and be taken seriously.

No Bernie did not pave any way for Warren. She paved her own.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumer_Financial_Protection_Bureau

In July 2010, Congress passed the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, during the 111th United States Congress in response to the Late-2000s recession and financial crisis.[2] The agency was originally proposed in 2007 by then Harvard Law School professor and current US senator Elizabeth Warren.[8] The proposed CFPB was actively supported by Americans for Financial Reform, a newly created umbrella organization of some 250 consumer, labor, civil rights and other activist organizations.[9]

On September 17, 2010, President Obama announced the appointment of Warren as Assistant to the President and Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to set up the new agency.[10][11] Due to the way the legislation creating the bureau was written, until the first Director was in place, the agency was not able to write new rules or supervise financial institutions other than banks.[4]

......................

Fact. E Warren is my Senator and my candidate of choice. Sanders did not pave anything for her. She is her own women as you can see by the CFPB that it was her baby from the get go. The interpretation of rigged to Sanders is very different than hers. She believed the system was rigged by predatory lending back in 2007 and did something about it. He believes the DNC and Media is rigged to thwart his run for President.

However I will say the very first page is telling. If he now has only 49% of the white vote, his base... Then he is losing. Period.

But OK.

After struggling to win over African Americans in the early stages of the primary season, polls show the Massachusetts senator is gaining traction with a pivotal constituency.

Oct 2019

I voted for her twice and met her once. She is brilliant, witty and an energetic speaker. While some of their policies may be similar, I also use a yardstick when considering a candidate. I measure their lists of accomplishments along with their policies.

Here is a sample and this was only through 2016.

1. In 2011, while working as an assistant for President Obama, Warren single-handedly conceived of and established the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a watchdog agency that helps protect the little guy from Wall Street’s dirty schemes. Thanks to the newly-formed agency, mortgage lenders can no longer push you into a loan you cannot afford. And these servicers now have to make a good faith effort to keep you out of foreclosure. If they don’t, they face hefty civil penalties.

It’s not just mortgage companies and big banks that now have to sleep with their eyes open. Credit card companies also now have to play by the rules. In 2012, the bureau ordered three American Express subsidiaries to pay out $85 million to over 250,000 customers they screwed over through illegal practices.

Warren managed to do all of this even while the GOP did everything in their power to cockblock it. And when they failed that mission, they bitched and moaned and managed to prevent her from being nominated head of the CFPB. She then used their tantrum as a pathway to run for Senate.

And she won. Easily.

3. In only three years, she has sponsored at least 36 bills, including the Equal Employment Act for All, the Schedules That Work Act, the Trade Transparency Act, and the Fed Accountability Act. She consistently fights for legislation that champions for women’s rights, paid family leave, low-wage workers, fair trade and affordable education.

think that having a broader appeal among Democrats is somehow something to be tolerated rather than a positive.

I've come to view Warren as a more acceptable(to mainstream Democrats) form of Sanders,

Goodness, you have a dim view of "mainstream Democrats" don't you - as though they don't really understand Bernie... are you sure you're on the right board?

Warren's been a Democrat far, far longer, and she has more concrete accomplishments in her much shorter career. She has far more respect and therefore influence among her peers, and that says volumes.

Warren's real power lies in her outsized influence, not just for a freshman senator, but for virtually any elected official in Washington. Her pen may not have touched many pieces of legislation that made their way to Obama's desk since her election in 2012, but her fingerprints are all over them.

Warren would be a strong spokeswoman for the party in Congress or outside of it; she spurred creation of a federal agency —the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau— without the title of "senator" in front of her name. But allies say Warren's best tool is her seat at the committee table in the Senate. Through hearings on the Senate Banking Committee in particular, Warren's questioning and persistence has lead to rules changes at various federal agencies without needing to get legislation through a Republican-controlled Congress. Most notably, Warren successfully pushed the SEC to require banks to admit wrongdoing in negotiating many settlements.

Even critics acknowledge that Warren's influence, particularly over federal agencies and her Democratic colleagues, goes beyond her fairly brief record of legislative accomplishment.

However, I just can't.

I find the premise of your post hurtful.
I'm so white that 75% of my “immediate” family say I actually glow.

When we've taken family photo's I've been told, I should stand in the back so that my "whiteness" won't flood them out of the picture.

Families can tease.

My dome is shiny. My beard is now totally white.

On background, perhaps I should share why my family sticks together - politically.
We are unabashed socialists. Hippies.

My father's mom was a contemporary, and friend, of Jeannette Rankin.

The Matriarch of the other part of my family knew Dr. King and was present at his last speech.

97. I am so sick of this BULLSHIT stalking. I make a comment in anger, obviously
Sat Oct 26, 2019, 12:15 PM
Oct 2019

not meaning it in the literal sense as in the end of America, and I can BE CERTAIN someone from a CERTAIN GROUP will show up and pretend that I am saying something bad so they can ATTACK my character when in fact the only reason I am being attacked is I am one of the

PRO HILLARY

people here and that gets you ATTENTION from that CERTAIN GROUP...

Sick of it, I NEVER respond to these people, but I am SICK of it.

(I am not responding to you, ehrnst...I am responding to a STALKING POST but I refuse to acknowledge the HILLARY HATERS on here so I never respond to them directly, but I need to say this or I am gonna fucking burst)

And they never get tired, they NEVER stop BASHING Hillary and her supporters. She isnt even running, sigh.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

immediately by the stalkers. Not just re Hillary but other subjects too. Especially Impeachment. I have often wondered how this happens. I thought somehow there was a feature that when a word was mentioned, people got an alert of some kind. But no. It would explain the speed at which the stalkers converge. I never trust people who care more about trashing your idea than presenting a positive rationale for their own views.

I'm not surprised. He'll be in the Twin Cities on November 3. I'll bet he gets a good turnout here, too. Maybe someone will photograph the crowd there, as well.
