Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumElizabeth Warren is running one of the best campaigns for the Democratic nomination ever
Her call to impeach Trump before anyone else was pure brilliance (of major stature in the party I mean). Her 'I have a plan for that' platform is brilliant. She checks the box of a southern-born politician running for the ticket winning. She is clear and succinct at the debates and doesn't bat an eye at the ridiculous attacks made by the desperadoes against her. She exudes compassion and empathy. She knows just how to get under Dotard's skin and I am convinced that the more people get to know her, the more they'll love her. Her meteoric rise in IA and NH is nothing short of stunning, not to mention nationally.
Seeong her as front runner for the Democratic Nomination for the President of the United States is a dream come true for me. Go Liz Go!

(39,284 posts)I love them both and I think its too early to say that she isnt close in terms of impact. Warrens swinging for the fences just as Obama did and she seems well-suited to our political moment. Her speech at Washington Square Park showed that she has plenty of poetry to go along with the prose. This does have the feeling of a historic candidacy and what would certainly be a historic presidency. Im supporting her, but Im also enjoying the ride and looking forward to seeing where it takes us.

(6,853 posts)I like her personally and she would make a good president. But she's the targeted opponent by moneyed interests, and they are attempting a Hillarylike 24/7 smear campaign.
She needs to speak to the moron voters who only vote with their wallet or purse-she scares them.
Good.

(5,801 posts)Pushing that fear of what they will do just wont work as a talking point anymore. Hillary won despite all that. It took treason to keep her from taking office.
All of our candidates stand the same chance of horrible deceitful smear campaigns. 100%.
The problem is election security. Weve had three presidencies stolen from us in the last two decades.

(52,130 posts)both Kerry and Dukakis ran fantastic primary campaigns to name two but so did Carter, Clinton, and Obama to name three others. That said, she has been impressive. The big obstacle she has remaining is getting AA votes in the South without which she will likely lose to Biden.

(1,835 posts)She will be unstoppable and the southern firewall will crumble.
I'm coming at this from initially totally supporting her, then being scared off by the media treatment of her, then supporting Beto, then Biden, and ended up back where my heart wanted to be in the end after both Beto and Biden proved to be disastrous campaigners and debaters.
Her SSM quip from the townhall last week is another example of her strong skills.
I'm not getting the Kerry/Dukakis feel from her due to her bold vision and the historic nature of her candidacy.
