Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Tue Oct 15, 2019, 10:32 PM

As we wind this debate down....

1) Who do you think did themselves the most good tonight and why?

2) Who could have done better/did badly?

3) How did you feel about the operation of the debate/format/Anderson Cooper et. al.?

1. My picks...

Joe did well... he had some fire in his belly....
Bernie (and Im not a fan...) did much better. He looked healthy a vigorous. Same ole stump speech, though.
Pete sounded great... but probably wont rise too much

Kamala.... good, but no breakthrough
Liz.... her worst debate so far, IMO. A bit disappointing

Corey.. weak. Hes done
Yang... good and bad. The moral equivalency argument lost me.
Steyer.... not terribly impressed.... maybe Sec of The Treasury or Commerce
Amy... meh
Beto... I like the dude, but.... hes done.
Castro.... Smart guy, but no breakout. Hes done too.

Gabbard.... yuck

2. My thoughts

I think a couple of people looked strong tonight

I think Biden looked good. He's not my preferred candidate but I thought he looked better than other debates. He looked like he had more fight in him without too many gaffes.

I thought Bernie looked good. I think he looked good coming back from his heart attack and might have quieted some questions about his health.

I think Warren looked good. While this might not have been her best debate, she took a lot of punches and I don't think anyone was able to deliver a knock out punch.

Sen Klobuchar looked great. Lot of fire.

I think Yang made some great points, so did Castro.

On the other hand
I don't think Steyer did well. He didn't get a lot of questions, when he did, he didn't stand out or make me say, oh yeah that's the guy I want to vote for. He looked stiff and robotic the way he kept staring into the camera. First time jitters I guess.

Tulsi - Uhm no, just no. Her constant wanting to ask questions to other candidates was annoying. Her appealing to the Fox News crowd is nauseating - I don't agree with much that Hillary Clinton said, I don't see deplorables. WTF ever!

As far as the debate format. I'm not a fan of how much time they gave to Elizabeth Warren. Seems like they were trying to see if anyone could knock her down a notch. That prevented hearing more from the other candidates.

Cory Booker. Faded away. Its like he was hardly there. Nothing he said, stood out.

3. I saw some of the same things

I agree that Bernie and Biden looked good.

Elizabeth Warren had a chance tonight to set herself ahead of the pack, and I don't think she got there.

I agree Yang looked good - stiff at times - but gave good answers.

Mayor Pete sounded very good, but he has to sell me (and others, I think) that being Mayor of South Bend prepares him for being President.

Harris scored with the reproductive rights remarks, but I don't think she helped herself picking a fight with Warren over banning Trump from Twitter. Warren's answers weren't great there either.

I don't think Beto, Booker, or Tulsi helped themselves.

Klobuchar did well.

12 is too many on stage at once, but the whole debate format doesn't work well.

6. The reason Warren got so much time was because the other candidates were addressing her by name

You get a rebuttal when they address you directly, that was not a subjective choice by the moderators.
