I just can't get excited
I'm still undecided and to be honest not particularly excited about any of the frontrunners. I'll support, vigorously, the nominee but I was hoping for a younger canidate outside the Washington establishment. I was looking forward to the potential generational contrast on a debate stage next fall. Bill Clinton and Obama were fresh and inspiring, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton, although good people, just seemed like Wahington rehashed politicians. My hope was our party would be the face of the future and not the face of DC. Personality, not particular policy, wins General Presidential elections. Any of our canidates will win more votes, I just hope if it's Warren, Sanders or Biden- they can bring along a record turnout in the heartland to win the EC. I'll probably vote for Pete or Beto in primary. I just think they provide the best contrast to Trump going forward. Fingers crossed.

1. And I can't get excited about the fact that you're not excited.
If the idea of beating Trump doesn't excite you, your problem is something I can't fix and don't want to try.

19. Fracking frackers and their fracking poisons are not our friends.
Someone should tell Joe that his stance on fracking is fracked up and certainly nothing to get excited about.

to speak up and tell everyone your opinion and how you feel.
![]() Honestly, I don't know why some posts get shit on and others that say basically the same thing don't. Actually, I'm not all that excited about the top 4 either, and am even LESS excited about BS. Like you, I will support our nominee regardless. I'm leaning toward Harris and Warren, so we'll see. Anyhow, welcome to DU. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

2. Are you more interested in youthful excitement or actual experience?
What, exactly, is the Washington "establishment"? Would you prefer a candidate with no government experience - like Trump? Do you have to be excited about a candidate? I'm very, very excited about beating Trump, and that's all the excitement I need.

7. tRump, has to be voted out of office. I'm excited at the prospect of this and in favor of any of our
candidates that can do this, no matter whom they are. Having tRump out of office excites me so we can move out from the tRump bullshit.

8. you should stop looking at politics for entertainment. why do you feel the need to be excited ?
i have preferences among the primary candidates but I'm even more ready to vote in the GE no matter who is the nominee to get trump out.
the fact we have the fucked up trump and you are concerned about being excited about politics doesn't impress me. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

12. A Very Everton Statement
The POTUS makes decisions that affect the daily lives of billions of people, to which you could add the very future of sustainable human existence.
Somehow you've decided that the main criteria is being "fresh and inspiring," as if you were sizing up television's fall lineup. For me, that seems awfully close to the reason that Trump was elected - too many people couldn't tell the difference between reality and reality TV. Give it some serious consideration. By which I mean your choice in football clubs. YNWA ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

Seriously. The post you responded to didn't call for that response. If you can't even handle that, then how have you been able to stand it here.
We have an insane president destroying this country, and the fact that someone was honest when they sauntered in here to tell us that they just aren't excieted about that isn't going to shield them from the responses they get. Sorry. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

Your post contained a backhanded endorsement of those guys only based on their age and an attempt to tear down the rest of the field based on vagueries. You can see why some may question your intent with such an OP.

15. Sorry, I don't think personality should be the deciding factor. That's probably what has led us down
the path to tRump. I belonged to a group that had a great agenda. The head of the group was a hard person to get along with BECAUSE she wanted a professional job done on a project we were working on. Some in the group wanted to put in less of an effort to accomplish the goals she set out. She won out and everyone was glad she did.
How about setting some better standards for choosing a president and teaching them to our youngsters. Right now, it seems they are trying to teach us something because it's their lives that are truly at stake. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

21. Pretty much my plan.
I'm not unexcited by our field, maybe the opposite. I like many of them. Most of them, in fact. So, call me indecisive, at worst. My primary isn't until St. Patrick's day, long after Super Tuesday, so my vote likely will be one to end the primary process and pick somebody already.
Hell, we're talking about Trump. I'd vote for the ghost of Lyndon LaRouche if it were running against that crazy fucker. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

18. I'm not excited about any of them either, that's just me though.
I consider voting to be my duty though, whether I am excited or not so for over 46 I have turned out to vote for Democrats or just for a referendum in a local election for all of those years, missing few.
Too many of those on the Left seem to need to be excited or motivated to vote and that's simply childish. Voting is too important to be based upon being excited by the candidates. People in countries who get the vote for the first time may risk their safety or lives to cast their ballots but they do it anyways. We really have few valid excuses for not voting. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

22. The prospect of another 8 years (yes) of Trump provides me with all the "excitement" I need...
If you are old enough to remember when the Big Dog was fresh and exciting, and are still pinning all your voting hopes on another Obama as well, then all I can say is you may have a case of arrested development.
Use your head. Have a look at the Democratic platform from years past. Recognize that ANY Democrat will abide by that on climate, health care, jobs, education... Just pick one. Or don't, and just vote for whoever gets the nomination anyway. Just don't come to a place like Democratic Underground bemoaning the lack of "excitment" and expect a lot of sympathy. who needs to be removed from office by impeachment or indictment. That's my main concern.
