Washington Post-Opinion: Biden's heart-on-his-sleeve campaign
I want someone who is as different from trump as possible. I agree with the premise of this Washington Post editorial
Link to tweet In a race in which candidates are jockeying to be the most un-Trumpian candidate — whether by intellect, ideology, experience or vitality — Americans are reminded he is a man of decency, kindness and loyalty.
This is the polar opposite of a president who gives a thumbs-up with an baby orphaned by the El Paso shooting, who brags about crowd size on a day of mourning and who attacks opponents in between stops with survivors and their grieving families. Trump is entirely lacking in empathy and sincerity; Biden has a surplus of both..... We may be in an age that is far too snarky, cynical and polarized for that message. It is certainly understandable that older voters who’ve lived in a United States that is kinder, gentler and more unified would appreciate that message. However, building a presidential campaign based not on policy plans but on emotion, aspiration and inspiration is a very contemporary phenomenon. Bill Clinton’s “I feel your pain” and Barack Obama’s hope and change reflected an awareness that voters want more than PowerPoint presentations from their president. They want to know he or she sees, understands and cares deeply about them. Link to tweet Link to tweet

38. She has been quite critical of Trump and Republican leaders. Michael Steele, Steve Schmidt,
Joe Scarborough can contribute sound political analysis without letting their firmer or current political affiliation obscure their judgement. Some Dem politicians have hired such analysts who have been on the other side to advise them.

"Biden, Harris, and Booker overperform among black Democratic voters, while Warren receives 1% in this group."

4. First article I have seen that captures what distinguishes Biden from rest of the field, what his
appeal is all about. Beyond this emotional appeal, he is the most job-specific qualified, knowledgeable, and experienced candidate.
29. this isn't exactly accurate. Biden doesn't need to focus as much on specific
plans becsuse he has been in office for a long time and was vp so people already feel they know him and what he stands for.
this is not the case with others. but bill Clinton and Obama DID have to focus on issues but they were pretty mainstream democratic positions. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

more eloquently than Biden. His ads have amazing production values and leave me feeling positive about him. This ad is heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time. I didn’t know he was sworn in at the hospital at Beau’s bedside.
The other candidate who comes close to painting a picture of a healed America is Williamson. I know a lot of people are dismissive of her, but she has a gift for making an emotional connection. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |
