With One Line, Elizabeth Warren Effectively Ends What Was Left of John Delaney's Campaign

In one line during Tuesday's CNN Democratic primary debate, Sen. Elizabeth Warren made a distinction between her vision of the Democratic Party and that of her more conservative opponents.

Replying to former John Delaney, a former congressman from Maryland polling at around one percent who has made opposing left-leaning policy ideas the centerpiece of his quixotic run for the nomination, Warren wondered aloud what use it was trying to lead the American people without a vision.

"You know, I don't understand why anybody goes to all the trouble of running for president of the United States just to talk about what we really can't do and shouldn't fight for," said the Massachusetts Democrat.

*

"We need to have the courage to fight back against them," said Warren. "Until we're ready to do that, it's just more of the same."

"Well, I'm ready to get in this fight," said Warren. "I'm ready to win this fight."

This is why Warren is top on my list. I think she is the best qualified to fight back.

She has a lot more details. The anger undertone sucks on her the same as Bernie.

I hope she is on the ticket.

11. Nobody wants to be in the ring with her...

I'm coming to believe her message is the one that the party needs to get behind. We need to kick the rest of the R-lites to the curb and get on with the house cleaning.

12. Delaney is but the first of multiple people that blowtorch of a line might be used on

I can hear the howls now if their 'not-pure-enough' dog in the fight gets lit up like a X-mas tree on January 2nd if/when they go after Warren about MFA, a wealth tax, etc etc etc.

Delaney is just a pantomime villain at this point. He is not even remotely centre or centre-right or whatever is being projected upon him. Most all of his actual positions (including healthcare) would be called 'hair on fire' far left 2 or 3 cycles ago. Now, in the Party of Bernie-distorted paradigms he is ludicrously inferred to be a Republican in Dem clothing. We are careening off the rails to the left for the general, I truly fear.

13. I think if Warren gets on stage with Biden, she will destroy him

and I donít know if itís good or bad. At this point I do believe that protecting and expanding ACA should be the highest priority. However, MFA is a good long term goal; it is obvious if Warren becomes president, MFA wonít pass the senate anytime soon so itís not even a measure I use to evaluate candidates. Presidents are not legislators. Speaking from global perspective, it is radical to have private insurance companies in charge of your basic health care coverage.
At least I can clearly see Warren, BS and Peteís vision for America (Pete is by far the most articulate) but I canít see Bidenís vision. Obama had radical vision for America in 2008 campaign.

before she ran for the Senate.

She is wicked smart, and she makes the truth plain enough for anyone to understand.

She understands finance and financial matters better than anyone of any party I've ever seen or heard. She can hear something and just do the math in her head about how it would turn out.

Just. Plain. Brilliant.

And good.
