Important Twitter thread about what the Democrats can do:

Tim Wise

@timjacobwise

1/ If the Dems blow this election it will not be because they were "too far left on policy" or because they "weren't left enough." It will have little to do with policy at all. They are making a mistake caused by traditional consultant theory that does not apply here...

2. This isn't really about that.

This is about the framing in the general, no matter who the candidate is.

4. It never works that way...you don't 'frame' the general for an unpopular candidate running on say

MFA which is not popular if private insurance goes away...you nominate someone who can win period. You don't pick a candidate that has little chance and then try to sell it to the electorate. You will surely lose any election this way.

5. But this isn't about any of the candidates.

The thread specifically starts with saying they won't lose by "not being leftist enough" or by "being too leftist." It's not about that at all. This isn't about Biden vs. Warren or Booker vs. Castro or any of that. It's a roadmap for -whoever- wins the nomination, about what -has worked- in the past against white supremacist David Duke. It's a strategy, not a candidate.

It's about not normalizing all of the racism, totalitarianism, fascism, nepotism, sexism, and xenophobia in the current administration by not talking about it. It's about shining a light on all of that to make sure that those people who somehow can't see the difference between the current GOP and the Democratic Party get to see for real what the GOP stands for.

6. The Blue Wall? They voted for the Dem in every presidential election from 1992 until 2016.

We have several Dems running who can win back the Blue Wall.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Tom Steyer
