Democratic Primaries

I think between all these candidates, we could be looking at the cabinet of the next democratic administration. Hope they dont tear each other apart over small differences.

(15,681 posts)tear some of the others apart. I think once that starts it becomes difficult for anyone to rise above it. But we have a treasure of bright Democrats running so I'll be holding onto hope for a clean and fair race.

(4,492 posts)With how red his state is getting, I wonder if there's a path to a statewide victory for ANY Democrat.
Granted 2010 was one of the worst years in my life to be a Democrat. He lost to someone so extreme they gave IN a Democratic senator for 6 years.

(12,344 posts)Buttigieg does have government experience and would be far superior in every way that counts. If he wins, it means he presented a vision compelling enough to look past his youth.

(34,060 posts)While I am still undecided and essentially not paying attention to this here on DU I had to come in and say this. He is not done yet but I have read some and and am hearing good things. For many reasons I would be happy to vote for this man.
My ideal would be a young female of color because I am ready for change. I could def go for a young, gay male with a good head on his shoulders. We need to get away from our traditional candidates and winners. It is happening and I would love for it to happen while I am still on this planet.
Essentially I do not want to vote for, but I will, anyone close to my age (65) or older even though there are many who are good or great and would do a great job. It is way passed time for the much younger crowd to get in there and fight for the world we are leaving them. It is going to take all their energy to clean this up.

(4,492 posts)It's a few pages back on this forum. One of the things he said is that 3/4 of the last presidents were born within months of each other (June, July, August of 1946).
I'm a little less than 2 years older than Pete. If he doesn't make the ticket, I'd love to see him in the cabinet. I'm impressed with how smart he is.
