Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumRemember President Obama's first debate performance
for 2012 against Romney? We were all so disappointed. Then he came back and mopped the floor with him.
That is how I see Biden's performance Thursday night. The man spent 8 years governing and then went through personal tragedy and a very low period. So he's back but clearly out of practice. I expect he'll perform much better at the next debate.

(31,261 posts)The candidate whose chances I like best to take the nomination now is Warren. Harris is in a unique spot, her age makes her an ideal VP choice for a lot of candidates, assuming that she does not win the top spot.

(15,682 posts)or has she offered any opinions on foreign affairs? This is probably the 6th time that I've asked the same question but I have yet to get an answer.
I would also like to know the same about Harris and a few others.

(31,261 posts)There are people called advisors. I could be wrong, but most are selected for their expertise in a particular area. I assume Warren has heard about selecting advisors to advise her.

(5,376 posts)If President Obama thought Biden should be Vice President, well, that's good enough for me... I think Biden should be Vice President too!
When President Obama endorses Biden for President, I promise I will too.
until then... Biden for Vice President!

(31,261 posts)The point that I made is her lack of foreign policy experience is not a large roadblock, there are plenty of people available to advise her in that area.

(31,261 posts)There were a number of people. He chose Biden to give him credibility there, but Warren can do the same. Why can't she? Is it because she is a woman? I see no logical reason why she can't do the very same things that President Obama did in that particular area.

(22,875 posts)He has the experience of being that person who was 2nd in command.. he knows where the pitfalls and potholes are.. he also has his fingers on the redial of the best people in the nation to advise him.. that is not taking anything away from Sen Warren.. she is the choice of my husband.. first time ever we have picked different people.. and since both are 70 and over they are too old to be on the ticket together.. which is a damn shame.. but ageism is a real factor.. he will be a great President.. for one term.. and then the VP can take the next 8 and we will have a Rooseveltian revolution to set this country back on track.. 12 good solid years in the Exec. and if we can get some of our better people to back out of here and run for the senate and state houses.. oh that is my dream..

(31,261 posts)In 2008 the early prediction was that Hillary would sweep the South. That changed fast. I have friends that I really trust for analysis. They have watched Warren up close, she is a dynamic campaigner who changes minds. Biden can't afford to keep making unforced errors because if he does, Warren is going to be even with him, my friends say in that situation, she would be the favorite because of how hard she works to change votes.
