but he did oppose enforcement of busing. Without it, a lot of Black kids would have been condemned to separate, and unequal, schools back then. To be fair, Biden has done a lot of good too.

maintain segregated schools. I remember my first years of school, two buses going through the same working class neighborhoods to pick up kids of a certain race. Kids that I played with during the summer riding a bus for miles to their same race school.

3. Good point. All problems aren't solved, but it was really ugly back then.

Of course, it was even uglier before I was born 70 years ago. Appalling, but it was acceptable back then.

5. I remember.

Following my mom around to segregated shopping. One food chain refused to segregate it's services, the A&P stores, my mom shopped there. Publix and especially Winn Dixie (hostilely so) were segregated. Imagine segregating people for grocery shopping and using toilets and water fountains, I witnessed that stuff so no one who tries to defend someone who did not forcefully fight that system relentlessly will convince me of anything.

... Saddles multiple times to teach us that the rest of the US wasn't like it was on the military bases in Europe which was way far ahead in desegregation than a lot of America was.

Then we went to another very desegregated military base which had many islanders and South American service people.

He was frustrated we weren't prepared for the real world, ... my older brother was ... I was in culture shock ... straight shock when we moved to the inner city where my father thought it was some of the best schools ... yeah, for his day.

White flight happened and things changed ... a lot.

but it does not make them right. As she said in response to another question, "I will tell you that on this subject, it cannot be an intellectual debate among Democrats. We have to take it seriously." And that's when she was being dismissed as the only WoC during talk of Buttigieg's turmoil in South Bend, over the shooting death of a black man by a white police officer.

Bring the condemnation but bring your intellect and an open heart, too.

primary today, I would vote for:
