Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro took some time to relish in his successful evening on the debate stage Thursday morning, stating bluntly to CNN: Clearly I had a great night.
After Castro admitted that he hadnt yet slept since the first round of the 2020 Democratic primary debates on Wednesday night, CNNs John Berman pointed out Google Trends latest statistics on searches during and after the debate. The statistics showed searches for Castros name skyrocketed by 4,000 percent.
Why do you think that is? Berman asked. Castro replied with a slight dig at the media.
Well, clearly I had a great night, Castro said. I went in there and the truth is before last night, a lot of American voters hadnt had the opportunity to hear from me. The media have focused in these last few months on some of the other campaigns.

(2,753 posts)that could get 60 votes in the Senate, with a well-meaning but overboard policy that would brand Democrats up and down ballot as the open-borders party counts as a "win" these days.

(2,113 posts)Giving Republicans a free talking point that Democrats want open borders and supporting removing the law that makes human trafficking over the border for profit illegal then yeah, he did incredible. He also ensured that any ticket he is on will hand Texas to Trump with a great big bow. Texas LOVES Beto O'Rourke and Castro is NOT popular statewide. This morning, he is even less popular. Beto remains Democrats' best chance to beat Trump and it's looking more and more like they really want 4 more years of Trump. That may become even more clear when Biden gets attacked even worse tonight than Beto did last night.

There is no need to scrap U.S.C. Section 1325 in its entirety. Codifying previous practice would proscribe detention camps.
