Google says search results for Castro have increased 2400%.
He seems to have made the biggest impact on the net.

3. He had nowhere to go but up.
I've been surprised that he didn't jump to 5-10% soon after he announced. Looks like this may be the break he's been looking for.

5. A general election disaster in waiting
his open-borders talk plays right into Trump's hands.

6. I enjoyed listening to him too.
Google has more hits on him because we don't know that much about him!
And that's a great place to search for facts. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

9. It's easier to get larger increases in percentage terms when you are starting near zero...
That's no knock on Castro, just a comment on interpreting percent-based factoids.
I assume there were other people there who also started from a similar baseline who did not have the same effect. Good for him. That said, a sitting US Senator like Warren or Booker probably starts the evening with a much higher search frequency in absolute terms, making a 4-digit percent increase in searches much more difficult to attain. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

13. i was very impressed with him,
probably more than any other candidate tonight.
Inslee and Booker as well, and Warren was as good as expected. But yeah, I think all 3 of them might reasonably expect a bump in their numbers after this debate. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

15. He did very well
Unfortunately, over the past several months, he has been really playing to the base, which will come back to bite him in the general.
I think he's been really playing to the base because his poll numbers were so low. He was very composed on the debate stage and was concise. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

16. Didn't care for his hit job on Beto
I think he views him as a long term adversary beyond 2020 (think Governor in '22 or Senate in '24). The last thing the Texas Democratic party needs is a wedge right now when it's showing signs of life again.

17. +1. Castro is like Gillibrand
Opportunistic with a mean backstabbing streak. He is insanely jealous of Beto - especially of Beto's popularity among Hispanics. There is a reason for his limited appeal in Texas.
