DU POLL: Question for Biden Supporters

Many Biden supporters have mentioned that they support him largely because they feel he would give us our best chance to defeat Trump. So my question is:

If polls near your primary day strongly indicated that another candidate would likely do much better against Trump than Biden would, what do you think you would do?

I would switch to that candidate, no matter who it is. Beating Trump as handily as possible, is what matters most.
2 (17%)
I would consider switching to that candidate, depending on who it is.
8 (67%)
I would stick with Biden, as long as it looks like he's still likely to beat Trump, even if it appears he wouldn't beat him as decidedly as some other candidate would
0 (0%)
I would stick with Biden, even if polls indicate little certainty of his ability to beat Trump, simply because I think he's the best candidate, and I think he could turn around any perceived defecit.

1. Even if polls show they would Id know they're wrong

because once voters in the GE found out how much Bernie and Warrens plans would cost and the details the polls would change. They are popular with the left in the primaries, but they wouldn't be with swing voters in the GE.

You have to be able to project how a candidate would hold up in the general election, and someone with more moderate policies would do much better. Also someone that has experience and has been scrutinized before. Nobody else has.

The other candidates that Id project to hold up in the GE are maybe Booker and Michael Bennet and right now they are barely on anyone's radar.

3. And how will they sell so many extensive, cost intensive plans to the general electorate?

8. Elizabeth Warren is fairly persuasive.

If Biden ends up somehow falling behind, I hope it’s to Warren. I think she can explain to the general public the merits of her ideas in an understandable way.

That said, Biden remains my number one choice because I think he can destroy Trump.

Why not Buttigieg? Definitely more moderate than Sanders/Warren. (As are numerous other candidates.)
