We could all agree to post our opinions on candidates we favor.

We could also agree NOT to be critical of any other Democratic candidates. I see so much bickering on this site. I think we should all realize that this is NOT useful! We each have our own opinions and have very little if ANY chance of changing some one else's opinion. If we are going to post in this area, why not post our opinion /reason for supporting the candidates we support? I am so sick of democrats bashing other democrats. Republicans do not do this and this is why they win, when all other things are equal IMO. Rant over.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Trump lost the election.

I agree in some respects, but posting and criticizing about candidate positions allows all of us to learn more about all of the candidates.

My preferred candidate might not be the eventual nominee, or might drop out, so these articles allow all of us an opportunity to learn about candidates.

savagely during the 2016 primaries. Well mostly Trump went after the others and then they started to fight back.

Didn’t appear to damage their chances in the election at all.

Now is the time, before we’ve decided who our candidate is, to do all the vetting.

This behavior hurt us in the last general election when this occurred between Sanders and Clinton supporters. One of Putin's goals is to create chaos in our country with the ultimate goal of destroying our democracy. Since we will not change anyone's opinion here, I do not see the point in bashing other Democrats under the guise of "vetting." Vetting for who??

Trump will take advantage of every little thing, and the candidate better be able to handle it. He doesn't need us to tell him how to use a gaffe to his advantage. I'd rather push the candidates into the water and see who can swim.

Now is the time, in our walled garden of DU, to discuss what is in the news about the candidates. I would rather the heat be applied now so issues can be addressed sooner than in the general.

DU didn’t spawn the son-boy story. It came about for a variety of reasons, but it wasn’t started here.

Of course we’re going to discuss news. I realize that some equate any kind of discussion as criticism. Constructive or explanatory criticism helps people learn. I have learned a lot in the last couple of days by staying engaged.

And if I see a shortcoming in a candidate’s communication strategy or lack thereof, then I will say something about it. That is not criticizing a candidate.

By the same token, I will continue to k&r positive news when I see it.

While I'd hold my nose in the general, there are several that I would not put out if they were on fire. Based on their *POSITIONS*.

I'll attack positions all day, and to be honest, there are a few policy positions that make me loathe anyone holding them, or who has ever held them.

That said, I am against attacking ANY Democrat; their views, votes, or proposals, hell yes, the person, nope.

Not all comments about a candidate's position or history are attacks; in my own case, I make them simply to illustrate why I like or dislike a candidate. I welcome rebuttals; I want to hear the other side. If I can't address what I see as a weakness, how can I have my reservations relieved? How else can I be convinced to change my mind?
