“You guys are great, but Wall Street didn’t build America,” Biden told the donors. “You guys are incredibly important, but you didn’t build America. Ordinary, hard-working, middle class people given half a chance build America.”

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Or that he was grossly corrupt, on the take, and mobbed up. The 90's were really when the degeneracy of the GOP became apparent, and he was one of its avatars.

I think the point of the piece is that it's interesting. The fact that the former VA Secretary was there is also interesting. I always though D'Amato was a whining slime, but he's no Trump.

Not to sound suspicious or conspiratorial, but I'd be checking him for electronic devices
On a less suspicious, maybe he's checking out others because he's thinking about dump trump
The most logical to me, and it's not a bad thing, is that they may be friends and he was there as a friend
Inouye (D-HA) and Stevens (R-AK) used to visit one another during campaigns

I ask because I hadn't heard that he was (and as a former senator from my state, I would have taken notice if I had heard about it), and because I have been unable to find any verification of that claim.

Also on hand were Robert Wolf, former head of UBS Group AG’s Americas Unit and founder of the strategy and investment firm 32 Advisors, along with Dennis Mehiel, chief executive of Four M Investments; Michael Kempner, who heads the public-relations firm MWWPR; Jay Snyder, a principal at HBJ Investments; and George Tsunis, the founder of Chartwell Hotels.

Kempner invited me to this event, but has also held events for Bullock, Harris, and Booker
