Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Wed Jun 5, 2019, 10:10 PM

Its not just Biden, multiple Democrats lift material from other sites

"cough ..cough"

"

Twenty-four hours after Joe Bidenís campaign was taken to task for lifting portions of a climate change plan without citation, itís clear that the former vice president has plenty of company.

A sampling of policy proposals from Bidenís leading rivals suggests the lifting of direct text from academic papers, think tanks or policy institutes ó and the cribbing of facts without attribution ó is fairly widespread on 2020 campaign websites.

A POLITICO review found previously published material on the official campaign websites of Sens. Kamala Harris and Bernie Sanders, as well as frequent use of facts and data without citation on a number of others. "

3. Drafting lengthy legal documents taught me that,

one can NEVER reread enough times, and one can NEVER be certain all cites are included AND are correct.

Extremely foolish to blame VP Biden today; however it seems some WANT to do so.

6. ellen I cannot even begin to imagine how hard that is to read huge briefs

because I have this habit (its a weird type of dyslexia), where I will be reading along a line, and my site of vision drops and I catch a sentence below and it can change the whole meaning of a paragraph.. I have to reread everything 2 or 3 times..

14. I am forever having to edit even posts in DU

I write something and I reread what I wrote and I see my thoughts there,... but I reread it later and there is a word missing.. its crazy..but the picking up of the next sentence is the one that drives me the craziest.. in an orchestra.. whoa.. that would give you some interesting results

17. That is how it is supposed to be done Ellen.

Writing a big document without adhering to that rule opens the door to the type of mistakes that we are seeing. I think Biden's team made an honest mistake, as did Bernie's, Senator Harris' and other candidates' teams did.

that others did the same damn thing?

7. To give all the benefit of the doubt, I suspect that staff members were tasked

with creating this policy papers and they went in search of material and it was just easy to use similar phrases.

16. I didn't think it was a big deal for Biden, and I don't for the others.

It's publicly available material.

It's just that it stings Biden more, because of his past. Although HE personally didn't write that paper or leave out footnotes. His staff did.

The candidates don't write these things.
