Full Interview: Beto O'Rourke on "Face The Nation" (VIDEO)

Great interview! Talking about fixing the issues and solving problems instead of wasting time on silly and pointless personal attacks. His 14 years serving in public office and all of his dedicated work helping veterans really shows. I love how much he knows about the important issues he speaks about.

2. He sure is! And so focused on policy and uniting the country

Which I absolutely love. I am so weary of the divisive rhetoric and juvenile personal attacks. I think America has had it's fill of that garbage the last few years.

I just want someone who can rise above the noise and put the pieces back together.

6. Yep

I remember when John Kerry was deemed the safe bet and how he would beat Bush and the military "photo op" from the aircraft carrier because he was really in the military so he could gain some perceived upper hand with how smart and brave he was and cultured because he played classical guitar, etc. etc. None of that stuff wins elections. So they were determined to destroy Howard Dean in favor of the chosen "safe" candidate. They were wrong. Connecting with voters and being able to communicate with them in realistic and simple ways about things that are important to them and strong charisma to make people want to get out to knock on doors and go vote is what wins. The candidate can't be too extreme in positions, of course, but Obama wasn't the safe candidate. He was the one who people believed in.

4. Pretty Good.

Very serious guy who has obviously thought through many issues and has answers.

He'll go far if he could tell a story or a joke on occasion in addition to running down the policy.

Good luck, Beto!

5. He actually does tell some jokes at his town halls

And he tells a lot of personal stories. It's like he remembers the names of everyone he meets and talks to when he visits different places. The national press is NOT honest about him. He has come out with major in depth policies on Climate Change, Women's Health Care Rights and Access to Capital/Small Business Issues and yet they talk about nonsense.

9. Well, he'd better not say anything too witty or humorous

Gravitas, you know. Gravitas. Presidential material and all that

(Actually when I first saw him in person - before he became "famous" - in deep red country, he made a comment to the crowd about going into a lion's den - it turned out fine. When I saw him again many months later, he still remembered me and the setting. The guy has an impressive memory about people.)

I can definitely picture him remembering you! If he makes it to Florida I hope he'll be close enough where I can see him too.
