Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Fri Mar 1, 2019, 02:33 PM

Bernie Sanders not interested in advice from, guess who...

WHEN will people

never mind

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/03/01/bernie-sanders-hillary-clinton-2020-1198599

Sen. Bernie Sanders said Friday that he hasn’t spoken to Hillary Clinton for advice on the 2020 race, and frankly, he isn’t interested.

“Hillary and I have fundamental differences and that’s just what it is,” Sanders (I-Vt.) said on "The View."

Sigh, now I suppose if any D candidate is seen as having similar views to Hillary, guess what happens NEXT

The most qualified, experienced Democrat alive who is not a former president, or one of them, and someone says this running from OUR SIDE?
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Please stop stirring and dividing Democrats.

Hey, how 'bout some real news?

Jay Inslee has just thrown his hat in the ring and
is making GLOBAL WARMING (the real problem) his #1 priority .

Russian bots attracking and encouraging a lot of minorities to not vote for HRC or stay home. The evidence is clear and has been exposed but it is still being ignored.

155. Do you mean you think she would have beaten Romney when he ran in 2012, or 2016?

In all honesty, 2016 was a Republican year, coming off of 8 years of a Democratic Presidency. The candidate that would have don't the worst was the one they ran, Trump. I think anyone else that got the Republican nomination would have done better, even Cruz but especially Romney.

But who know, I could be wrong. Maybe Trump would have done better than Cruz or Romney because he has one talent and one talent only: riling up nuts and getting them pumped and out to the polls.

Global warming is being addressed fully and unapologetically by this Democrat below. Hopefully other Dems who haven't lost houses to fires or hurricanes, will do the research (and stop whining about past elections):

84. Yes.... it seems like an infinite number of meaningless issues being thrown at us right now

All designed to foster division between us.

Bernie's statement wasn't really all that controversial.... he simply said he had different views than Hillary. So what?

Personally, I'm not going to dig too deeply into a candidates nuanced views on this or that topic. What we NEED is a President who can kick some repub ass, get good legislation passed, and surrounds him/herself with well qualified advisors.

138. Agree...

I think Bernie handled the situation well. He simply said he and Hillary had difference of opinions.

What would be gained from Bernie speaking to Hillary? She basically blamed him for her loss in her book. I would be surprised if she had anything to say to Bernie. I could be wrong, but I think its obvious she doesn't like him. Fair enough; not everyone we think should like each other do.

Making this into a talking point just further divides us. There is no winning here, let it go.

140. Always ask WHY They say what they do.

He said this for some purpose.

Sounds to me like Sanders is trying to stir up his base, and/or his ex-base as the case may be, using the same tactics that worked so well for both him and Trump with those people.

If that’s the case, it might signal he’s worried about how he’s doing. He must know this tactic would repel others. Trump always turns to reinforcing his base when he’s in trouble.

Remember, almost a full quarter of his primary voters refused to vote for Hillary and instead voted for Trump or third-party. A quarter is a lot of votes.

More $ for the dem party and plus brought in more new dem voters to our party. I'm so tired of snide comments about Bernie from the uninformed. He IS a dem and signed an agreement not to run as an independent if loses the primary, has always caucused with the dems and right now leads all candidates in both funding from small donations. He's always been "politically beneficial" to our Democratic party.
PS...you can always tell who the republicans fear running against the most as that candidate is the one most attacked at CPAC. Hands down it's Sen Bernie Sanders. This post is just another divisive waste, petty and unimportant and only those with a Bernie derangement syndrome will use it to attack our leading candidate showing full scale resentments that I have to ask myself if they are Russian.

… I wonder why he can't answer the question without being negative... he won't win without Hillary voters. Maybe he will talk with his staff and come up with something better to say... here's a free response from me:

"We haven't had the chance to talk about 2020, no. There are many things I admire about Secretary Clinton and we may discuss the race at some point. I wish her peace as she watches from the sidelines this time."

46. Agreed. Dammit, Bernie, you're talking about the woman I STILL love!

Just changed my candidate preference from Undecided to Governor Inslee. I like Harris too, but Inslee talks climate crisis, and to me, that’s an emergency that’s PLANETARY, not just national. I’ve got a new granddaughter’s future to worry about now. And all little ones in our world who will inherit this damaged planet from their reckless wasteful greedy and short-sighted elders. UNLESS WE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!!

That is Priority One.

That said, I WILL vote for whoever winds up being our nominee. If we want to win, that’s essential, and urgent as hell. We can’t afford another four years of trump. We can’t afford another four years of republi-CONS. Our planet can’t afford it, either!

Oh wait...

So “being negative” is saying he admires her for many things but they have their differences. What a news flash!

Sounds like she never tried to ever call him after either.

“Hillary has not called me. Look, we have differences,” Sanders said, trailing off before conceding: “Hillary has played a very important role in modern American politics.”

. “If I am not and somebody else is, I will support that candidate because what’s most important is that Trump be defeated.”

It's another reason I think he had his one shot at the presidency a few years ago. I don't think he will have another one next year, frankly. There are too many very good candidates lined up already in this race. I think he'll be out of the running by Super Tuesday. That's not bashing him. I just think he took his shot and missed.

It implies that there's some obligation on Hillary's part that she's not fulfilling. It implies a belief that she "owes" him something and he's acting miffed about it. So, in return... the response is to passive-aggressively snub Hillary?

I know! Weird. Hard to believe... but that's certainly how it comes across. And I still wonder, what good purpose this serves?

Whenever I see any candidate behaving like that, it suggests to me that he or she may not be very good at thinking on their feet (or thinking BEFORE they speak). It makes me think that there's a bit of hotheadedness that isn't very presidential or diplomatic. In my opinion, anyone who behaves like that isn't qualified to be the President of the United States... no matter who he (or she) may be.

That applies to everyone!

76. Bernie's smart enough to formulate his own platform.

That being said everyone here had better get used to many more articles like this until next year. We already have several qualified people declaring their intention to run for president and there will undoubtedly be many more. The vetting process is arduous, painful and sometimes brutal. There can only be one presidential nominee so there are going to be many all over this country whose feelings (albeit only for a short time) are going to be hurt eventually.

I think having this many candidates is a good thing. They all bring good qualifications and ideas to the table. In the end, hopefully, we'll have the best possible candidate to leave the republican alternative in a cloud of smoke and take this country on a much needed, energetic and fruitful journey into the future. That is the candidate I will support 100%.

Bernie's been at this game long enough that he may not feel the need to ask or beg Hillary for advice. So be it. I like Bernie but, at this point I'm not advocating for him or anyone else. You seem to be wanting to pick a fight rather than acknowledging every one of our candidates so far brings good things to the table. Your attitude only helps the republicans.

Still, Sanders should have said he was open to advice from her even if he isn't or doesn't think she would give it. That is politics 101. That answer would have done a tad to mend fences. However, in the scope of things for the regular voter going about his or her day, this means nothing to them.

From the Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/selma-event-a-showcase-for-democratic-figures/2019/03/03/9e8f55b6-3ae6-11e9-a2cd-307b06d0257b_story.html?utm_term=.2003f411dfb6

The interaction between Sanders and Clinton — their first since they faced off in a sometimes-bitter 2016 Democratic primary — was frosty. While Clinton gave Booker an effusive hug, the exchange with Sanders was brief; as he passed by quickly, she reached out and initiated a terse hello.

The lingering tension between Sanders and Clinton has reemerged in recent days. Sanders was asked on Friday whether he plans to meet with Clinton, as others seeking the Democratic nomination have done.

“I suspect not. Hillary has not called me. Look, we have differences,” Sanders said on ABC’s “The View.” Asked if he was interested in her advice, he responded, “I think not.”

“Hillary and I have fundamental — you know, fundamental differences,” he said. “And that’s what it is.”

Sunday’s events provided a forum for the belief among many African American leaders that the GOP has been launching a renewed fight against voting rights, with such measures as voter ID laws and the curtailment of early voting.

180. NPR-Bernie Sanders has filed to run for Senate in 2024 -- as an independent

The new DNC rules state that a candidate must "be a bona fide Democrat whose record of public service, accomplishment, public writings, and/or public statements affirmatively demonstrates that the candidate is faithful to the interests, welfare, and success of the Democratic Party of the United States who subscribes to the substance, intent, and principles of the Charter and the Bylaws of the Democratic Party of the United States, and who will participate in the Convention in good faith."

And candidates must affirm in writing to the DNC chairman that they "are a Democrat... are a member of the Democratic Party; will accept the Democratic nomination; and will run and serve as a member of the Democratic Party."...

But some Democrats, Clinton supporters in particular, partly blame Sanders for her loss in 2016. They feel that by not embracing the party label, Sanders sowed a sense that there wasn't much difference between the parties and, therefore, between Trump and Clinton.

Clinton, herself, wrote in her book What Happened that Sanders did "lasting damage" to her candidacy — and that he never wanted a Democrat to win.

"He didn't get into the race to make sure a Democrat won the White House," Clinton wrote, "he got in to disrupt the Democratic Party."

She called him "fundamentally wrong" about the party, ticked off the things Democrats have done and noted, "I am proud to be a Democrat and I wish Bernie were, too."
